Photos: The fear of Boko Haram is the beginning of wisdom

See how our government abandoned the Eagles Square Abuja today. Lol. This is the third year in a row that this government has failed to hold Independence Day events at the Eagles Square. It used to be the traditional but that was before Boko Haram started bombing public places...

  1. Its a shame. When all they are good at is corruption. They might as well put the eagle square up for sale.shoul be good for peppersoup joint. Clueless leaders. SSS can not gather information, only good at killing innocent people. Police is busy collecting bribes and aiding politicians. The army is trying but GEJ should cover his head in shame.

    2. Rough diamond, No one is saying GEJ caused anything..just that he could do a much better job getting us out of this predicament becos slowly but surely..boko harram is becoming a permanent fixture in naija's helm of affairs. 78 people were killed in Kenya last week..the whole world heard about it..but in nigeria..that is a daily occurence..ombatse kills almost 100 cops..nothing happened..almst 80 students were murdered over the weekend and also happened last year..and what happens?..nothing..and countless more. A wartime president is what we need now cos believe it or not we are at war..not a president who's main priority is enriching himself and the people in his immediate surroundings

    4. Where ur sense dey? Is he not the president since his inception d state of our security has deteriorated beyond comprehension, yet you re defending him.i guess if a relative of yours was a casualty in one of the bombings of these terrorists you wud nt speak this way.

    5. This rough diamond cannot be an intelligent person. The role of a leader is to solve problems not live with the problems on ground and also maintain the status quo in areas that are good. A leader is judged good or bad based on the problems he can find solution to and by how well policies and good infrastructural development are maintained.
In order words you are a bad leader if things deteriorate under your watch.

    6. Y are you guys always blaming our president, is he the one that formed boko haram? The man is trying 2 work but some cacus are militating against it, at least he has deployed soldiers to this terrorist zones, what else do you expect of him? I wish they were fighting for something but that's not d case here, they just want to kill

    7. Confused bigots ar always quick to accuse GEJ to b responsibl for 9ja's problm wen it is/ws dia kith & kin dat ar responsible for d hellish moment d country is passing thru. GEJ hs ruled for jst like 2.5yrs out of 53yrs & hs made substantial improvemnt dan his predecessors.
Ur tribesmen enthroned corruption, looted d commonwealth, appropriated oil wells, diverted tariffs wh ought to hv bn realised frm some untouchable importers, converted & shared public assets & coys amongst dia frndz & cronies, severally increased petrol pump price with reckless abandon, used religion & almajari system to subject dia poor to perpetual penury & darkness, used religion to maim & kill ppl, formed BH to unleash mayhem on innocent Christians & others in d name of born-to-rule, used quota system to enthrone mediocrity at d expense of excellence, entrenched tribalism & nepotism, enthroned polices which ar clogs in d wheel of progress of ppl/states, stole Nbillions to build private institutions of learning to destroy public institutions, diverted Nbillions meant for TAM of refineries, power projects, national ID card, road construction, used d introductn of GSM as avenue to extort & impoverish d masses, turned d legislative house to cash n carry enterprise of do-or-die politics, created inequality in d system - by apportioning so many LGs to non-viable & scarcely populated states/regions as avenue. D list of atrocities committed by ur tribesmen ar innumerable!

  14. My dear what a shame,a country where a few bandits have issued warnings and our gorvernment ran into the safety of aso rock villa, with their tails in b/w their legs.Even with all the countless security apparatus at our disposal, what a shame..Even though every terrorist group targets America, can anybody stop Americans from celebating thanks giving? No way its not possible, that is a challenge their security arrangement is happy to tackle,.This administration hav failed us once more..our politicians who claim to be serving us shuld hav seized this opportunity to demonstrate what they are ripping us off for.And be ready2 take a bullet for Nigeria or even die for Nigeria,we will bury them like mytrs,,But alaas! They wuldnt,..The youth are gradually understanding that the only time our Gorvernment listens is whenever one carries arm,if this happens they wuld have resolved with ASUU etc,for long, so unfortunate we are gradualy slidding in2 that situation..The youth of this country luv Nigeria, and hav faith in this country,we wunt run away for any reason instead they that say things shuld nt be done right, wil run and leave naija for us..God bless Nigeria!

Linda is modestly dressed most times so what is the big deal if she decides to try something different. Pls, calm down and stop with the "role model" crap. If you have kids YOU should be their role model and not anyone else. Leave people alone to live how they please.

    2. Mr Jona is confused. The president is getting older with all these pressure. He lacks the capability to rule. He's only struggling to survive his tenure. Those pushing him for 2015 are pushing him to his death. He can't take the bull by d horn, he's weak in decision making. We need God to rescue us from this shit. We need 'a General' in this nation and not a lecturer. A general not necessarily a soldier.

    3. Anon 4.26pm, u & ur co-travellers are the ones who are confused, and possibly heading to ur doom! Come 2015 we shall see how that ur greedy and tribalistic uncle/BH broda will defeat GEJ and rule this country. Nonsense!

It shows that if the president cannot ensure security @ an event, how then can the whole country itself be secured. This shows that the terrorists truly are winning and that we are at their mercy! God help Nigeria!!

  43. No, the fear of GOD is the beginning of Wisdom and knowledge of the Holy one is understanding, Proverbs 9:10. I know I'm busting a bubble or two but the Word of God should never be misquoted like that. God made man, the Boko haram 'concept' is man-made, just like Al Qaeda and the other terrorist groups. Reverence and fear should be towards the Most high alone and even the fear of God is not like any other, it brings peace, from madness like these 'allegedly' home-bred *rolls eyes* terrorists.
