Death toll rises to 78 in Yobe student attack

The death toll at the College of Agriculure, Gujba ,Yobe State has risen to 78. At least 50 of them were students who were attacked in the early hours of yesterday morning as they slept in their hostel. Some were shot, others were butchered with swords and knives. The gunmen, suspected to be Boko Haram sect members later moved to houses around the hostel, killing residents they find. Then they blocked the Damaturu-Maiduguri road and killed travellers. So far, 78 bodies have been counted, with many more people still unaccounted for. A student of the college who survived the massacre explained what happened...
"They started gathering students into groups outside, then they opened fire and killed one group and then moved onto the next group and killed them. It was so terrible. They came with guns around 1a.m. and went directly to the male hostel and opened fire on them. The college is in the bush, so the other students were running around helplessly as guns went off and some of them were shot down.”
The gunmen stormed the hostels in two double-cabin pickup all-terrain vehicles and on motorcycles, and were dressed in military camouflage. They attacked 4 male hostels but avoided the only hostel reserved for girls. Swords and knives were used to kill at least 30 male students. Some corpses that were found were without heads while others had heads hanging to the bodies. Wailing parents and relatives were at the Sani Abacha Specialist Hospital mortuary in Damaturu this morning to identify their loved ones. This can't continue. This government has to do something about the situation.

As it is now,we have got to allow for foreign military aid to come in...if the US decides to construct an underground pipe from the creeks of Bayelsa to somewhere in Texas so they can steal our oil then its fine...it will be the price our bloody 'government' has to pay for failing woefully at security and a host of other things.

I tell you all, I blame the civilians still remaining in places like Borno and Yobe! How can you be living comfortably in such a place and not expect to be killed?

You know how incompetent your government is and yet you refuse to flee to the south!

Next, I expect a mega / mass protest to Aso Rock or Government house by all the families of the BH victims right from inception till date! Don't these people who have been dying have relatives/loved ones???? Why do you not take up arms and fight for the ones you've lost if the govt will do nothing?

This is no American spy movie but you can either march to Aso rock or the govt house and camp there in protest or you can start by setting traps for these blood thirsty bastards and their sponsors!

Organize yourselves by hook or by crook; by jazz /prayer or by anymeans possible:- Families of victims, Catch these terrorists in their numbers and slaughter upon sight! They are human beings too and are not invincible! Smuggle in weapons just like they do and open fire on their hideouts!

It is time for Nigerians to take matters into their own hands! Stop crying and lamenting! Do something drastic for once! Honour / avenge the deaths of your loved ones! Seek them out.....hunt them down.....let them also know how it feels!

Let there be chaos' then maybe" just maybe" the goverment will act!

  78. If the govt were sincere about fighting BH, they would have gone after their financiers. You need money to run an organization. A criminal needs three things: money (funds), weapons and shelter. Take out the money and he can't afford the weapons and shelter. So, who is providing the money? Why send in troops to put out a fire but leave the fuel, which feeds the fire, untouched? Why are politicians not being attacked? My guess is they pay protection money. Which leaves poor people as targets. Some people are making a lot of money out of this. After all, it's just poor people being murdered. Expendable people. We wonder how Al Assad of Syria can be so inhuman. Yet, we live with several Al Assads in this country. This earth is big enough to bury us all.

  116. Listen to me everyone:

  123. I think we now have a problem on our hands in this country that goes beyond who the President of Nigeria is and which geopolitical zone he/she comes from. Niger-Delta militants started kidnapping but after amnesty, kidnapping has not stopped.

  129. It's WAR. Nigeria is in WAR. These killings will gradually spread through the length and breathe of Nigeria. Foreign embassies will close shop and ask their nationals to get out. Jonathan sits there with no idea on how to protect his citizens .What a big joke. Nigeria is a joke.

  131. When Hitler murdered 7 million Jews and the 2nd world war lead to about 30 million deaths, the world did not end. When Pol Pop of Cambodia killed about 5million of his country men, the world did not end. Nigerians are fond of riding on d "religion" band wagon as an excuse for their apathy. While waiting for the world to end, why don't we just start doing something by voting for the right people. More than half of u blasting this current government will not come out to vote come 2015.

  134. sometimes i wonder how some people think, obviously myopic and brainwashed minded. All yah abusing islam and the qur'an, if u say islam says we shld kill non muslims did it also say we shld kill muslims too cos these people have killed more muslims than members of any other religion. The prophet (saw) that we muslims follow his teachings came from saudi arabia pls how many times have you heard people figthing from that region*winking* Many of you comfortably travel to dubai and the likes, shld incase u dont know the citizens are majorly muslims but y didnt they kill you before you cld find your way back home since islam says we shld kill any non muslim that comes our way. These BH bois are on a mission known to only them and their sponsors and not until we find a fast and lasting solution to menace, it is only God that can save us
