Bola Tinubu recuperates after knee surgery in the US

Former Governor of Lagos State and leading founder of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Tinubu has been absent from public engagements in the past few weeks. He sent out a statement in early August explaining that he would be traveling out of the country for knee surgery.
"Based on a previous sports injury on one of his knees and recent further aggravation on the knee from rigorous political and family related activities, he has been advised by his doctors, despite his persistent reluctance, that orthopedic surgery is necessary at this time.
The week of the 5th of August has been slated for the surgery. Governor Tinubu is expected to resume his normal political activities and public engagements following clearance from his doctors." The statement read
Tinubu has since had the surgery in a hospital in the US and is said to be recuperating.

  9. I remember Tinubu established LASUTH and claimed he improved the healthcare sector of the state by adequate funding. If his words were true why paying for what you have cos as a former governor of the state he is entitled to free medical care. More so, knee surgery is not a life threatening surgery and you get to go home straight after the surgery why traveling 1000s of mile for that if not a waste of resources and deplorable state of condition he created.

  14. Nigerian political elites and their dramatic show of shame. Is it not a shame that after 8 years in office as the governor of Lagos State Tinubu cannot build a hospital that can take care of his knee injury despite all the resources at his disposal. They prefer going to abroad to treat ordinary headache with the looted fund...shame! shame!! shame!!!

  26. That's The Problem with this nation...This Man was Governor for 8 good years yet he has to fly abroad for a knee surgery, is it that Lagos state can't generate enough Revenue to build a standard Hospital or what?? it is a shame how our leaders and elites fly abroad for medical attention, it clearly shows you how backward we are in this entity called Nigeria...Hissss

  27. So with all his tenure in power he could not build a world class hospital in lagos, now he's jetting to the US for common knee surgery.I remember doctors went on strike several times in lagos under his tenure then. And he wants to lead this country, they are all the same; corrupt individuals with no ideas.

  30. I am a silent reader of this forum but Linda there are some publications that I do see here most times that I get mad with , like this one .that he went to US for knee surgery is it a news, do you know how many people that are dying either because sickness and poverty .if he has done well as a leader why will he go to US for a knee surgery?Do u know how much that will contributed to US economy ?That has proved to that they the leader have NO confidence in 9ja . God will judge all of them that has refused to make 9ja what God wants it to be.

  33. If it is GEJ that went abroad for treatment, Asiwaju and cohorts will not allow us to hear. Honestly, Asiwaju People and Co (APC) does not have anything good to offer this country. See how he is controlling BRF government. Anyway, wish him well IJN. Amen
