Ex-Super Eagles Taiye Taiwo indicted in France on tax fraud

According to reports, former Super Eagles player Taiye Taiwo has been indicted in France on tax fraud charges. The French authority say the 28 year old player is owing them €1,025,000 in back takes after failing to pay his income taxes in 2008, 2009 and his property taxes in 2011.

Taiwo owns a €600,000 mansion in Allauch, Marseille and the French authority say they plan to seize the home and auction it. 

Taiwo, who currently plays for Turkish football club Bursaspor, played for French club, Olympique de Marseille from 2005 to 2011. He is yet to respond to the charges.

    So he has money to build a house but doesn't want to pay taxes? He had better sell that house and come and build a house in a less stressful country in africa. Money dey shack them for head. £600,000

    Even Messi himself has been indicted for something related to such of late, but what's surprising about Taiwo's case is that its been close to a week after allegations and nothing has been heard from his camp about rebuffing such claims, well, time shall tell how this goes.

    What's really going on with this guy? He looked a great talent but then before we could say jack, he vanished into thin air. Now he has a new challenge of tax evasion. That Gee must really be going through a whole lot at the moment.
