We read stories every day of artists spending millions on expensive cars, clothes just to be like international stars like Jay Z who has sold more records than them. They spend so much trying to show off. Even MJ was bankrupt at a point in his life even after selling millions of records. Later when these Nija artists get old or they fall sick they go round asking for donations. The number of Bentley cars in Nija puzzles me. A car depreciates in value. No hating here, it's just that our artists are trying to be who they are not. Anyway I wish them well.

Pls why are we helping OJB call for help? can't his family do that without getting the public involved. When he was spending his money did he ask for our opinion and we are here crying more than d bereaved. OJB may not have 15m cash but he should have fixed assets worth 10m or more. Infact I'm so dissappointed that OJB can't afford his treatment. All these artiste/actors/actresses that buy cars and houses worth millions of naira then when they fall sick they want we that drive cars of 800K or 1m to help them. #God is watching. This should serve as an eye opener to other artistes. Anyway I pray OJB gets d money on time.

I am really sorry for your ailment, I hope you find some help on time to treat yourself. I am so mad at Nigerian celebrities, this is the problem we have with Nigerian artists, they make money, buy millions of Naira in cars and clothes all in the name of SHOWING OFF, they want to show the world that they are "THERE" and they are HAPPENING, but they forget to save. NIgerians want to show off so much, they spend money recklessly without SAVING for tomorrow and for emergencies, this is a Nigerian culture, they will rather spend money on stupid things they don't need, just so people can say they are BIG BOYS and BIG GIRLS, but if you check their bank accounts it runs to ZERO. Another problem is, we never go for check-ups yearly, until its too late, we need yearly check ups to make sure we do not have underlining problems, the reason we have people in Nigeria suffering from severe problems is when we seek medical attention, it is normally TOO LATE, If he had gone for a check-up when all the underling symptoms started, it could have been controlled or fixed with just medication, I know this cos I m a medical personnel, he is penny wise, pound foolish. He made millions from all the artists he managed.
ReplyDeleteI feel sorry for him and hope he comes out ok, we just have to learn the culture of going in to check-ups even when you feel ok, just to be sure all is well, and of course, kidney problems occurs when you DRINK ALOT of ALCOHOL or do ALOT of DRUGS, it damages the KIDNEY, This is the only causes I see that would cause his ailment, but as well as so many other factors, which could have avoided, such as toxins in the blood, if he had gone for check ups.
Nigerians have to learn the culture of saving money and STOP the rush of SHOW OFF attitude of spending money recklessly. If he had gone in early for checks, all these would have avoided, the only reason one needs KIDNEY TRANSPLANT, is when the kidneys are in their end stages, and cannot perform any longer. Getting the kidney is the major problem, he needs to find a donor match, if not it won't be successful, hopefully someone in his family is a match, and can spare one of their kidneys, we can live with 1 kidney, and his body accepts the kidney. I sincerely hope he gets healed. It just pisses me off seeing Nigerians who have the opportunity to make millions of Naira end up not being able to help themselves when they need it most. So sad

I knew OJB at some point and all I can say is that he was one hell of a nice guy. He did lots of production for a whole lotta peeps for free,it was more of passion for him. Well everybody has a right to an opinion so I won't bother justifying mine, I'll just drop my lil widows mite and drop in on him during the week. I had no idea he still lived in that house.

Eeeyah, its a pity that this is happening to OjB.He,s one of the best producers Nigeria has ever produced.Wish i had money to help.By the way where are the money bags in the music industry such as Dbanj,Tu face,Don jazzy,etc.They should all unite and save the life of this promising young man.

It's all a facade, a show, as it is called...I pray he gets the money...once upon a time these musicians needed someone's help, I hope what goes around doesn't come around again o..cos today your rich like bill, tomorrow broke like Dionne Warwick....o and by the way, there are 50 shades of gray, just because they say they buy those expensive items doesn't mean they do...if I had 1.3million pounds to buy a bottle of champagne, what the f..k am I doing hustling a dereppin tv commercial deal...?
