    1. Did not really want to comment. But I don't really understand the need for or significance of Tony Blair attending this occasion.
Well maybe it is to make him aware of the need for him to give his life to God.
I am sure the church would have spent a lot of money in hosting him.
Don't think it was necessary though. Just my thoughts anyway.

U are worst than the politicians because u claim it's in the name of the lord. Are u expecting people to sleep in this cathedral.

Blair!!! Blair.... My goodness, u guys need a lobectomy - Blair's already walked away with his appearance fee Likely to be in the region of 20-30k or more. Naija pastors are suckers and the naijas at the bottom or how pastor adefarasin's website described them (downtrodden) are so glad to be sucked for their money. Haba!!Pastor Paul Adefarasin wither lies the annointing, or were you preaching salvation to GEJ and his lying Advisers and Assistants who occupied the front pew at your church's dedication? Would Christ have allowed Pilate or Caesar to commission HIS Church?? These men are surely men of mammon seeking power and human acclaim NOT men of God. SMH, sad!!They are chiefly the problem we have because they adore politricktians so much that unlike Christ and the Prophets of Old they betray the people seeking for tithe fat envelops sealed with the blood of the people. Like the scriptures noted judgment must begin from the Church. God have mercy on us. - So Mote It Be. Amen.

  58. TUFIAKWAAA. NOW THAT THE OFFICE OF THE NIGERIAN PRESIDENCY HAS BEEN REDUCED TO COMMISSIONING CHURCHES.
    1. How many churches did King Herod commission in the Bible?
    2. How many churches has Obama or the queen of England commissioned?
    3. How many mosque did Yar'dua Commission?
    4. How many churches did OBJ commission?
I hope people will not mention Aso rock Chapel and Mosque as that is the property of the government.
Now that president Jonathan has nothing doing he is going from commissioning a steel plant that is not worth a private mini factory in lagos to commissioning churches.Yes Jonathan does not know the worth of his office and what his office stands for, but to the pastors who are now using him to commission churches, it is only God that will pay back. Now the ascending to the office of the president has made one righteous and godly to now commission churches. This is what i am sure the catholic Church and Methodists will never do. the pentecostal are taking the grace of Jesus Christ for granted. President has not turn to pope and ordained men of God to commission and bless churches. SHAME!

  59. One of the greatest problems of human beings is our penchant for double standard.... we choose to always see the wrong in others, but remain conveniently blind to our otherwise glaring faults....Why are christians not calling this president to order????
What is wrong with this president sef???? What is actually wrong with GEJ? Does he even know that constitutionally Nigeria is a secular state??? Why is he provoking Boko Haram the more? I know he claims to be a christian, but as a public figure he is bound to keep his religious beliefs and actions private. Why does he need to show off with his supposed piety?
Nigerians are even worse, they call Buhari a bigot, an extremist, even a terrorist, but Buhari has not done with Islam a third of what GEJ is doing with Christianity.
A construction company built a church in GEJ's village, GEJ organized crooks in a launching in Lagos to donate billions to his local church, GEJ went to Adeboye's church and knelt down in obeisance to Adeboye, and just today, he went to Adefarasin's church to do the same: SOMEONE SHOULD REMIND GEJ THAT NIGERIA IS A SECULAR NATION! NOT A CHRISTIAN NATION!
    NB
If it was Buhari that organized northern billionaires to donate towards the building of a mosque, people will scream blue murder, but because GEJ is one of our own, we see no wrong in what he is doing....GEJ is polarizing an already polarized nation."

I can't remember Linda giving away prizes or gifts to those who drop comments on her blog, so please you do not have to show how myopic you are, hence the kind of comments you post. It would do us a lot of good in this country if we stopped pointing accusing fingers and do something about the state of our country. I don't think Nelson Mandela was President when he fought for freedom in South Africa. So, if you think you're better and more competent than people you criticise, please be our Nelson Mandela and fight for our freedom. Thank you.

  63. Only God knows who is serving Him. Must the president fly to Lagos to come and commission a church? Where are the numerous (and idle) special assistance and even ministers? Can't he delegate someone else? Where there are numerous national issues to be tackled. Nonetheless, we know is game plan. Mr President is always looking for cheap opportunities to win people heart politically. Once he is nice to the pastors, he beleives their big congregations with vote him in, in the second term. "KO JO", we are not fools. GEJ get it into your head, you have failed woefully and bound to be throw out.

  67. If you read ur bible well you will see that there is absolutely nothing wrong with TB and GEJ attending the inauguration. That being said, I'm not sure I agree with GEJ cutting the tape. I would have expected TD Jakes who is good friends with Pastor Paul to commission the Church. Or even the head of the Pentecostal union in Nigeria . Dasall!

  71. I have lost all respect for Adefarasin and other ass-licking men of God..if people like Pastor Paul and Adeboye fraternise with an obviously corrupt and hated Resident of Aso rock like Jona who the heck is supposed to speak the hard truth!!!!! I pay my tithes and worship @ HOTR, what has this corrupt leader that has made Nigeria go backwards by decades have to do with how we sweated and contributed and prayed to actualise the vision of the church building!! the man will later go and be hosted @ Redeemed on the same Ibadan xpressway that has killed thousands of Nigerians and Adeboye can't prevail on him to at least fix the road!! A sham!!!

  74. Linda, you should have added or researched to know, this was a two part ceremony, the social ceremony as the cathedral is purposefully built.the church dedication held today and it was power filled with most of the church leaders present
And to the others saying negative thing, must u guys comment??don't let God shut your moths oh!!! Nuff said!!

  75. @ Anon April 21, 2013 at 12:23 AM...

Tony Blair, is not an Anglican, he is a Catholic.

    ReplyDelete
  76. The dedication of the cathedral was a two day event. Yesterday, the social justice and community developement functions were commissioned, while the ecumenical dedication of the cathedral was today. This was not just a church building dedication, there are other initiatives of the ministry that have been up and running which were formally inaugurated yesterday. It would pay us better to get our facts right before we start wagging our tongues about stuff we know absolutely nothing about.

    ReplyDelete
  77. And "all House On The Rock" refers to all HOTR churches worldwide.

    ReplyDelete
  78. The Rock Cathedral had two events. Saturday's was the opening as a center for social justice. That's why president jonathan and tony blair were there. On sunday it was dedicated and pastors prrsided over everything. So please it is wise to get all your information right before you start judging.

For those abusing pastors please I advise you let your words be few. God is the rightful judge not you.

Lastly, congratulations to Pastor Paul and every member of House on the Rock (of which I am proudly a member). HOTR has changed my life and made me a better and more balanced christian

    ReplyDelete
  79. First time I will ever comment on this blog. Pls what was the purpose of GEJ and Blair coming to commission this church? How much was spent building this church? How many church members can afford 3 square meals and basic accommodation? Sunday the only day we can enjoy the lekki express is now a thing of the past. Getting to other places of worship is now a headache as traffic at the roundabout leading to the church is crazy. A mega church like that shod be build on the outskirts of town and adequate preparation should be made for offsite parking.

    ReplyDelete
  80. When men of God fraternize with bad leaders they compromise the ability to tell them the truth. I think our Pastors should re-think.

    ReplyDelete
  81. Foolish pastor looking for money. Inviting president to launch house of God. You have great Pastors . Beware.

    ReplyDelete
  82. my advice to all those critics give your life to christ and leave men of God doing great things for the lord alone before you remove broom from somebody"s eyes remove the tree on yours..

    ReplyDelete
  83. Let ignorance not kill most of you on this blog. Point of correction and note to Linda: the dedication was in two parts; on Saturday the church was dedicated as a centre for social justice and National transformation because it has schools, hospitals, and several departments. And on Sunday which is today,it was dedicated spiritually where all the respected church leaders came and prayed. The two services were beautiful and very meaningful. Be informed before you speak, government does not mean devil, even Jesus was criticised for talking and eating with people the Pharisees deemed sinners. Christains are made to be leaders, so please eat ur heart out if it pains you that Jonathan goes to Pst Paul Adefarasin, Adeboye or Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor's or any other church. It should be a thing of pride but for you critics, no way!

    ReplyDelete
  84. Linda, this is not balanced reporting. First, it was a 2 day event. Secondly, the Cathedral is a multi purpose facility. The commissioning here was as a centre fo National Reformation & Transformation. That was why Tony Blair was invited and you should have asked for the content of his speech. The ills and problems of Nigeria were clearly talked about but with the hope of transformation with the many initiatives of House On The Rock.
The Conscration was done today as a different ceremony.

    ReplyDelete
  85. Linda, you got it wrong. Surprised you didn't talk about the many initiatives of HOTR. The Cathedral is a centre for National Transormation. Why did you not talk about the legal aid the church offers to prisoners and the less privileged. The free healthcare to Ikoyi and kirikiri inmates? The computer labs to over 25 schools in Lagos? Free Medicare out reaches to various parts of the state? Always present a true and balanced report.
