Below is a mail that was sent to me by a close family friend of Lilian Akiyesi, responding to the recent revelation that Solomon Akiyesi was married to another woman called Ezinne before marrying Lilian.
I am very close friends with Lilian's family and have
decided to respond to this shocking and unfair accusation. Lilian met
Solomon as a little and naïve girl in 2001. There was no one married to
Solomon as at then. Down the line, Solomon got married to Ezinne who
said she was pregnant as at then. Lilian moved on with her life. Years
later, Solomon and his family came to ask for Lilian's hand in marriage
claiming that their son was deceived into marriage as Ezinne was never
pregnant and was infact confirmed in the hospital to have damaged her
womb a long time ago. On investigation, Solomon's family said all rites
have been retrieved and dissolved of the marriage which was based on
deceit.

After some time, Lilian and Solomon got married. Ezinne has
never called Lilian for a warning or otherwise. Never! But rather Lilian
put a call to her when she suddenly heard Ezinne was claiming to still
be married to Solomon. On that shock, Lilian had her lawyer call
Ezinne...who asked Ezinne to come up with a certificate or evidence to
show they have not been divorced so that Lilian can move on with her
life. But Ezinne refused to show up, even after several calls. Today out
of nowhere, she comes out to give a wrong picture of Lilian. Where was
she all this while? What sort of woman will sit back and watch her
husband wed someone else without doing anything about it...if truly her
hands are clean? Lilian wouldn't be that stupid to go as far as she did
on saturday, had she any reason to believe he was married to someone
else asides her. Lilian married Solomon as a very young and sincere
girl, never out of desperation. I think the damage is enough already.
It's obvious the intention is just to bring Lilian down.

The so called innocent young Lilian didn't go her way even after her boyfriend left her to marry Ezinne, she lurked around and got married to him- breaking someone else's home all in the name of coming to give birth to Mary and Jesus. I'm surprised that with this story and their insinuation that Ezinne is barren, all these years in her apparent innocence, she hasn't filled the so called Solomon's house with children. Your hubby attempted to abandon you for someone else, so there can be no denying the fact that he probably did the same to Ezinne,and in the process told all manners of lies against her in order to be with you. So whether her womb was damaged or not dosent make any difference, he married Ezinne for better or for worse, so if he had any issues, he should have divorced ezinne properly and lilian should have asked to see the divorce papers. I remember clearly when aproko Linda brought the pictures saying we should wait for the truth to unravel. About 300 of you unruly naijas cursed solomon and supported Lilian. Now dont you all see she wasnt a saint after all. Did she not also snatch someone esle's husband and NO WOMAN should come and tell me they didnt know their hubby was with someone else before. ReplyDeleteWow....been trying to objectively analyze the whole issue with these parties and today's MARRIAGES in particular, using Solomon's marriage as a case study as it affects us today.
ReplyDeleteI'd like readers to take a moment and really think about this. For those who are married, correct me if am wrong.
Marriage was intended to be for better or for worse. But in today's world, it is no longer the permanent bond it was intended to be. This "soul mate model, which sees marriage as primarily a couple-centered vehicle for personal growth, emotional intimacy, and shared consumption which depends for it's survival on the happiness of both spouses no longer holds as in all honesty, partners these days have been unable to keep themselves happy and satisfied. What is really driving this? So sad that once the ephemeral emotional high of a relationship fades, there is little in the eye of the beholder to keep the couple together. All that remains of these spent unions is attorney services,humiliations, infidelity and endless court dates.
This is why I do not believe or subscribe to the notion of Soul - mate, since it's so obvious that people change in the course of their lives.
Most of us these days and stuck and are not finding their mythical soul mates. We are rather having children out of wedlock because we feel our partner is either not marriage material or the union is too tenuous. We are also moving from relationship to relationship either in or out of marriage and sliding into what I call a new post-compassionate relationship model.
Maybe it's time we all re-evaluate this concept of soul-mate and today's marriage. I am of the opinion that your so called soul mate shouldn't be your everything. There is a pervasive idea that when we fall in love and choose someone to be our long-term partner, that that person will be a tremendous lover, talk with us about Nollywood, fashion,business, take long walks on the beach with us, raise our children, manage our finances and have very long and serious discussions about the state of our soul. No pressure. But it's not true for at the end of the day, it doesn't work and people walk away frustrated and those that stayed, felt so unhappy and stuck.
Maybe it's time we allow people to practice Polyamory which is the idea that people have the right to form their own complex relationships with multiple partners who will meet their many and varied needs and even marry as a cluster???
It's 21st century and am keeping it real.
Abeg make d person wai write dis message go sleep..na who ask am 4 explanation, amebo, na u know pass..let Lilian and Ezinne talk 4 themselves...if Solomon cld took d step to Marry Uloma without properly divorcing Lilian and having d fear of God, dat means, he has done it b4, which means he also left Ezinne to marry Lilian withou divorcing Ezinne. Who knows, Ezinne could ve layed a corse on Lilian 4 same tin to happen to her, and Solomon, his life will continue to be useless just f way he is now. My view is that , both Lilian and Solomon need to go as Ezinne 4 4giveness 4 peace to rain in their Life period .

Never felt so humiliated in my life when I found out it was all false after we were married. Omo! Forget that for better or for worse thing o. Marriage based on deceit cannot stand shikena. I moved on, today I'm happily married with 3kids. Long and short, make una no dey finish men like say na only dem sabi deceive. No one on earth is perfect. Shikena!
