Video: Governor Akpabio admits rigging senatorial primary election

Akwa Ibom governor Godswill Akpabio confessed to manipulating the result of a PDP senatorial primary election in the state in 2007 by replacing the winner with his own candidate. The governor fearlessly said this on live TV. Akpabio said:
“The people of Ikono and Ini from 1960 have never produced a Senator. I used my own hand to strike out the name of the person who has won before, and I said it is important for me to give that region a Senator in 2007, and I produced Senator Aloysius Etuk for you; that’s where he comes from.”
Unbelievable! Watch the video above. But shouldn't this call for a probe...?

  25. This shows that they’re no more scared of anybody. They’re totally in charge. For them, corruption has come to stay; no one to challenge them - no judiciary or any other arm of government to challenge them anymore, jona government is all about looting. For how long are we going to continue like this while the goat is still preparing for 2015? Is a pity. Badluck government is really taken the masses for granted. God, please don’t forsake us… too bad...

He made a political Statement; he didnt say that he rigged the election. He merely picked a candidate and said that the person who has gone(won before) should step down.Read meaning into this sentence " I used my own hand to strike out the name of the person who has won before, and I said it is important for me to give that region a Senator in 2007, and I produced Senator Aloysius Etuk" He produced a candidate who eventually won. 46. Linda Linda Linda, it is quit obvious that u hv serious and personal beef for Akpabio recently cos u've been on his case too much.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Akpabio must be shitting me!

I always wondered who was responsible for putting that irresponsible greedy man in that position, but now i know.
Aloysius had all these bad qualities that made him unfit to be out in a position of power. He never hid the fact that he was money hungry.

This Aloysius Etuk guy has an overrated school that I was unfortunate enough to attend. Overrated does not quite describe the school. This man is/was a constant liar.

He did not care about the welfare of his students who were paying loads of money to attend his wretched school. In fact, he spent time trying to deprive us! He is/was a truly devious man, who did not care about the welfare of anybody but himself!

The school was his funding machine for his seemingly dead career (at the time). He would cut back on feeding, and other amenities, just so he could sponsor his ambitions, then he would lie to parents.

He would hold political meetings/fundraisers at the school auditorium, (while classes were going on) knowing full well those acts could have repercussions.

One time, the school got attacked by his opponents political thugs, due to his past indiscretions. Buildings were burnt, cars set ablaze. Etc. luckily, no one was hurt.

He would bring young girls, sometimes, corpers, to his school and where his children were, then he would very obviously leave, in full glare of the whole school, with a girl under each arm, and his children watching. Most times, his daughter would be crying as her classmates made fun of her dad.

Aloysius' wife got kidnapped, and the kidnappers demanded money, and can you imagine that this man was hesitating to pay?
The daughter had to beg, before he even bothered to negotiate.

I left Akwa Ibom as soon as I graduated, so I never got to see how much impact this so-called 'chosen one' made to the state, but I heard that he was a deadbeat.

He exhibited those qualities from the beginning with us, his students, so I don't see how he would change when it came to his state.

Akpabio is a foolish man. Granted, this state is truly undergoing serious development. But i feel this man has this Messiah complex, like he is doing his people a favor.

  60. he can afford to say that without impunity because he knows how he (Akpabio)got there... and so do the rest of the people sited at that gathering. those are the kind of things they sit and joke about over a bottle of beer, he probably forgot the event was broadcast live.
Linda kindly ask all them news agencies and investigative journalist,TV houses Channels TV and Nigerians in general why they have not made such a fuss about this video, why isn't this video all over bbm, youtube, facebook, CNN Ireport, Al-jazeera etc, or is this not bigger than the "my oga at the top" display of ignorance.
