Photos: Accident on 3rd mainland bridge this morning

The accident happened around 11.45 am today. It was caused by a red saloon car which was loaded with foodstuff. The saloon car lost control and hit an SUV, causing the SUV to somersault. Fortunately no one was injured in the accident.

And how is this news, Linda? Well, a LIB reader witnessed the accident, took photos and sent it in. After all that effort, it's only fair for me to post it and for you guys to read it and comment. LOL. See more photos after the cut...

  27. We Nigerians have a lackadaisical attitude towards using seat belts when sitting in the backseat. Oyinbo man who put the fixtures there did not do it for decorative purposes.
Seat belts save lives. 2 young ladies working with WEMA bank were recently thrown out of the back seat of their company car when it lost control in Abuja. They were not using seat belts. The two in front using seat belts survived with only just scrapes. These girls would have violently hit the road and probably died on impacting the road.
Do not die an avoidable death! Everyone in a moving vehicle MUST use seat belts.
As for those who use Okadas...the Lord is your protector!

  74. did they know that tilting that car over that way manually can finally break, shift a broken neck or finally kill a 1/2 dead victim inside? as a trained 1st responder im just terrified of what could have happened to someone in there who was hanging on life. I understand they are trying to help sha but lets learn other ways. Nigerians need to start getting more knowledgeable. you don't tamper with a crime scene now haba... but what am i saying, it's not like the 911 emergency system or police is efficient anyway.
too bad 4 d accident. God help us all
