Court frees seven of the accused persons in Aluu4 case

Seven out of the 18 people arrested and standing trial for the murder of the Aluu4 victims were yesterday discharged by a Port Harcourt Chief Magistrates' Court. Their reason? Not enough evidence to suggest they were involved in the killing.

Those discharged yesterday were: Chinwo Cynthia (the only female suspect), George Nwadei, Ekpe Daniel, Gabriel Agburum, Finebone Jeffrey, Endurance Edet and Gabriel Ochie.

The remaining 11 accused persons, including Alhaji Hassan Walewa, the paramount ruler of Omuokiri-Aluu, will face trial for the murder of Tekena Elkanah, Toku Lloyd, Chiadika Biringa and Ugonna Obuzor.

  4. Although our sentimental hearts will fell bad over this but you got to accept that the Law has rules followed and all, but as for lack of evidence I am still yet to be satisfied with that. I just pray at the end of the day those responsible for those acts of inhumanity on those Aluu4 boys be made to hang and brought to book.

  20. Nigerian police judged some of these lads with their hearts and not their brains. Some of them weren't meaant to be in jail in the first place. Fine, they stood and watched blah, blah, blah but what in the devil's black cock did you expect them to do? Fight the real perpetrators? So they'd kill them too? I don't blame the police force though. They only acted the way they did cos of heartbroken Nigerians. If this happened abroad the falsely accused persons would already be pressing charges for false accusation and being held in jail since last year, defamation and torture. Too bad this happened in the first place. That's why literacy is good.

That one needs to die a very slow but very painful death.. 4 innocent boys were killed for nothing, anytime I think of it,I weep for the loved ones they left behind, but I believe they are in a better place.. May their soul RIP. Linda may God keep blessing you for not forgetting them even when others have.. This is the reason good things will keep happening to you cos you speak for those who have no voice.

  41. This is to be expected. In fact, more will be set free because of the incompetence of our Police. Due to the outcry that greeted this case, police went out arresting just anybody they could lay their hands on at least to give the impression that something is being done and arrests have been made.

  43. Y did dey set dat woman free? She fucking wntd dem dead! Oh no! RIP ALUU 4

  44. This is NOT a bad thing!
Knowing Nigerian police some of those arrested MIGHT just be innocent.I remember before several people contested the innocence of one of those arrested; saying he wasn't even in ALUU at the time. And if they ARE innocent, then they don't deserve punishment.
At least this is a sign that the case has not been forgotten which is good news.

  45. Well,I am a lawyer so I know how this works. Truly,u can't not continue to detain anyone when there is no evidence to support the charge against them . However, we might need to blame the police for doing a shoddy job investigating and gathering evidence against this accused persons. What I do know, though is that whoever escapes the arm of the law because of any failure on the part of the police or our judicial system will not escape the justice of God. That is the only consolation I have in this world of injustice. RIp,my little brothers...Ugonna,Tekena,Lloyd amd Chiadika. We miss u so much.

  46. Have you all ever thought about who is the boy that they came to collect money from. That line never came up again. If truely there was somebody that was owing them by now somebody must have revealed him. Their death is still a mistery, no one knows what happened till date.

  51. Although our hearts go out to d Aluu 4, d law must prevail and sadly d law does not punish u for bein a spectator in a crime scene, Sad? Yes but dats d law. So If dese ones r judged not guilty, let's try and trust our justice system
