  2. Nigerians in diaspora have their own beauty pageants abroad, why would they want to involve them in this? This will greatly reduce the chances for the locals.

    1. I see your point.
I've actually always wantedb to represent Nigeria for Nigerians at home but then thought about it and realized how unfair that would be.
They have Miss Nigeria in America, Miss Nigeria in UK i believe as well.
But what these winners in these lesser known pageants do, i don't know

Oh I see they need Yankee based that can bribe with dollars and pounds for the coveted crown!...and that is the only explanation.

It's not a good initiative. They should stick to our local breeds back home in Nigeria.
They can have miss Nigeria in diaspora but involving ladies abroad to contest back home is going to discourage most of our local breeds.

  15. I understand wat they tryna do! They tryna bridge the gap between Foreign Nigerians and Local ones.. Well on the bright side this means more influx of fresh lite skin girls into 9ja ;) gettin tired of d same old :)

  26. I love this video and I am glad Yemi is doing this because she is young, vibrant, fresh BEAUTIFUL, talented and highly intelligent. I would like to address BithPlis' comment about Yemi being facially challenged - I beg your pardon? Beauty pagents are not all about the face. Yemi has everything that a beauty queen needs to have as I have mentioned above. She is completing her degree soon, she has an idea about what she wants to do, she is focused, she is highly driven and knows what she needs to do to achieve her goals in the order that she desires. Therefore let us not hate and support her, because she is doing something that hasn't been done and she is NIGERIAN at the end of the day. Therefore-go girl. I don't understand why people are so consumed with negativity and bringing somebody down. Your comments about her not being fine etc- are void. therefore sit back and watch Yemi succeed whilst you sit there and hate!

Secondly to the person who said 'not fair, why are the other girls not being advertised' - it's a competition as a contestant you have to get yourself out there and market yourself. Is it her fault she is a go getter!!

Yemi pay a hater no mind- Keep doing what you do and you will succeed whilst these folks with myopic views' lives stay stagnant.

    1. Yemi we hear you o.Read well. What the person means is why did they put only one video on the blog and not all the other videos of her fellow contestants.Abi she pay Linda?

    2. @anon 5.24 helpn Yemiskolo fight her cause.Even if u av sense of direction n big dreams it doesn't mean datz d only criteria.mostly itz beauty with brains datz encouraged. In yemiz case, shez mayb brains but no beauty...n yes dat means she's facially challenged.
Its no beef, just stating d obvious
