  58. High blood pressure (HBP) or hypertension means high pressure (tension) in the arteries. Arteries are vessels that carry blood from the pumping heart to all the tissues and organs of the body. High blood pressure does not mean excessive emotional tension, although emotional tension and stress can temporarily increase blood pressure. Normal blood pressure is below 120/80; blood pressure between 120/80 and 139/89 is called "pre-hypertension", and a blood pressure of 140/90 or above is considered high.

  66. Personally, i find this autopsy report, rushed and unreliable because, after Whitney Houston and Michael Jackson died (RIP) it took the western and sophisticated hospital more than a month to come up with a full Autopsy report consisting of a toxicology report which normally takes more than 5 weeks, how come 9ja can produce a full and comprehensive report in just 6 days. Well, lets hope we are now beating the so called western and sophisticated hospitals at their game. More importantly RIP Goldie.

  71. hypertension could be hereditary or life style induced. Most times when people have headache for days that paracetamol cannot take care of, or chest pain, that may or may not give u some discomfort in your arm, then its time to check your blood pressure.Irrespective of age,it could b as early as in your 20s.
Get a blood pressure machine, check regularly or consult your doctor asap, and an untimely death could be averted.

Genetics, obesity,Inheriting from your parents or if it runs in your family,it could also be a symptom of a disease or illness.
I have had it for a year now,My parents both have it and am not obese,am not thinking of anything.
After my period or when am ill with malaria or thyphoid is also another time it gets high.Am 28 but I cope with it by regulating my diet and drugs if its really bad.Moringa oleifera also helps a lot.

  109. A lot of the readers that come on this blog are illiterates. If you read lindas earlier blog when she announced goldies death you would know that she said goldie was rushed to the hospital after complaining to have a terrible headache. The girl died of intracerebellar haemorrhage which is when a diseased blood vessel within the brain bursts, allowing blood to leak inside the brain. This is caused by high blood pressure also known as hypertension. You cannot get high blood pressure from thinking too much or a lot of people including myself would have it. If you don't regularly check yourself you may not know if you have high blood pressure or not because sometimes there are no obvious symptoms or signs and it also has no age limit as one can have high blood pressure at any age even at age five because its hereditary. Please if you don't know what you're talking about don't come on here and start typing nonsense and if you're misinformed go on google or ask your doctor. RIP Goldie may your soul rest in perfect peace AMEN! People should take this as a lesson to check yourself and be more aware of what's going on in your body. And for those who keep criticising Linda for doing her job please go sit down you come on this blog looking for info and gossip and when you find you talk so much shit saying she's turning to tmz wtf is that not the purpose of this damn blog site. if you don't want to know don't visit her blog page. 110. Nigerians never ceases to amaze me. Most are educated but not enlightened. Hypertension spears no one. Newborns can have high blood pressure talk less of a grown woman. Another name for it is "silent killer". Hypertension could be hereditary, lifestyle /stress induced or secondary to other conditions in the system or body and pregnancy. The lesson we should all take from this is DO REGULAR BLOOD PRESSURE CHECK.
    RIP Goldie.

Google is a tool available for all to use, read about hypertension, it is not medical condition restricted only to the old people. Its very possible that she cld have died from undetected hypertension and perhaps that was what triggered the head ache she complained about before she died.poor her, may her soul R.I.P. if she had detected it on time, she would have been able to manage it with her diet, exercise, some form of relaxation and change in lifestyle, but all that is just by the way side. this is an eye opener, always go for routine medical check up at least once every year.

  113. What are intracranial hemorrhage, cerebral hemorrhage, and hemorrhagic stroke?
An intracranial hemorrhage is a type of bleeding that occurs inside the skull (cranium).

Bleeding around or within the brain itself is known as a cerebral hemorrhage (or intracerebral hemorrhage). Bleeding caused by a blood vessel in the brain that has leaked or ruptured (torn) is called a hemorrhagic stroke. (All bleeding within the skull is referred to as intracranial hemorrhage.)

Hemorrhages that occur within the skull or brain generally happen suddenly, from either external or internal causes. A hemorrhage can rapidly cause brain and nerve damage and can be life-threatening.

Since the brain cannot store oxygen, it relies upon a series of blood vessels to supply oxygen and nutrients. The pooling of blood from an intracranial hemorrhage or cerebral hemorrhage puts pressure on the brain and deprives it of oxygen.

When a hemorrhage or stroke interrupts blood flow around or inside the brain, depriving it of oxygen for more than three or four minutes, the brain cells die. Furthermore, the affected nerve cells and the related functions they control are damaged.

Who is affected by intracranial hemorrhage?
Stroke is the leading cause of disability and the third-leading cause of death in the United States. Intracranial hemorrhage accounts for approximately 10% of all strokes in the United States.

Intracranial hemorrhage can strike anyone of any age, depending upon the cause. Although cerebral hemorrhage and hemorrhagic stroke are most commonly associated with older adults, they can also occur in children (pediatric stroke).

What are the causes of intracranial hemorrhage?
Intracranial hemorrhage has a number of causes, including:

Head trauma, such as that caused by a fall, car accident, sports accident, etc.
Hypertensive (high blood pressure) damage to blood vessel walls that causes the blood vessel to leak or break
Blockage of an artery in the brain by a blood clot that formed in the brain or traveled to the brain from another part of the body, with subsequent leakage from the damaged artery
Ruptured cerebral aneurysm (a weak spot in a blood vessel wall that balloons out and bursts)
Buildup of amyloid protein within the artery walls of the brain (cerebral amyloid angiopathy)
Leaking of malformed arteries or veins (arteriovenous malformation)
Treatment with anticoagulant therapy (blood thinners)
Certain pre-existing diseases, such as diabetes, sickle cell disease, or Moyamoya disease (blocked arteries in the base of the brain)
    Bleeding tumors
Smoking, excessive alcohol use, or use of illegal drugs such as cocaine
Conditions related to pregnancy or childbirth, including eclampsia, postpartum vasculopathy, or neonatal intraventricular hemorrhage
What are the symptoms of intracranial hemorrhage?
Sudden tingling, weakness, numbness, or paralysis of the face, arm or leg, particularly on one side of the body
    Sudden, severe headache
    Difficulty with swallowing or vision
    Loss of balance or coordination
Difficulty understanding, speaking (slurring, confusion), reading, or writing
Change in level of consciousness or alertness, marked by stupor, apathy, lethargy, sleepiness, or coma

For those that have problem to understand the cause of Goldie's death! Gosh! So many porous brain in that Nigeria.

  121. The doctor source on Sahara News report on Goldie's autopsy claimed that it may have been triggered by drugs but that the toxixology(which has not been done) test will take several months to be done, and would have to be done outside Nigeria.I still think they should let her be. But her death has really opened my eyes. A friend of mine died last year after complaining of headache. His nuclear family blamed his uncles for killing him through diabolic means. No autopsy was done. I guess it may have been a stroke. He was 24 at the time of death. RIP Goldie. U will be greatly missedb

  127. this autopsy report is crap...how on earth can a pathologist issue autopsy report when toxicology is still pending?I am now very very highly suspicious of some people.so what if toxicology reports comes out and she is found to have high levels of any substance that contributed to the very high blood pressure that led to brain hemorrhage?what will lasuth do?issue another report or what?sometimes some professionals take all Nigerians for fools....at worst, what they could have issued is anatomic summary without a cause of death since toxicology report is still being awaited.this is why some countries laff us to scorn.the report even says intracerebellar hemorrhage, but we were told it was cerebral hemorrhage, does this doctor not know difference between cerebrum and cerebellar hemorrhage again ?

  129. No one ever lacks a good reason for suicide. – Cesare Paverse

Until June 16, 2011 suicide bombing was a distant phenomena few ever thought could occur in this realm. The harsh economic climate and heated geo-political space notwithstanding, it is very rare to see Nigerians, a people widely adjudged as the happiest on the face of the earth, take their own lives. It was even more unimaginable that someday, a Nigerian irrespective of whatever influence, will devise violent and extreme actions capable of brutally terminating his life, and extending the same deadly gestures to those around him.

So when Umaru Abdulmutallab, a 22-year-old Nigerian from an affluent background attempted to become the country’s first suicide bomber on a US-bound flight on Christmas Day 2009, many among his compatriots questioned his nationality, others his sanity.

Nigerians can’t be suicide bombers, it was reiterated.

Then the dreaded happened. Mohammed Manga, a 35-year-old Nigerian male, signed his name in the most gory of inks as the first suicide bomber ever to strike in the country. A recruit of extremist Islamic sect Boko Haram, Manga blew himself up in front of Nigeria’s police headquarters in Abuja, two and half years after Mutallab’s first unsuccessful attempt to set the record aboard the American airliner.

Here comes the multimillion dollar question, what could make a Nigerian volunteer to be a suicide bomber?

Could it be the prevailing unemployment situation in the country which has made the teeming able-bodied youths roaming the northern part of the country a potential breed for terror recruiters? Maybe it is the lure of a few thousand dollars that make potential volunteers throw reasons to the winds and get blown up. Perhaps it is in the hatred indoctrinated into these would-be suicide bombers by extremist Islamic preachers at an early age.

Like his counterparts in Arabia or elsewhere around the world, research has proven that money, education or the lack of both, is not a determinant factor that would either motivate or hinder a would be Nigerian suicide bomber. If it will be recalled, Abdulmutallab was from an illustrious home and had the best education money could offer. Mohammed Manga on the other hand was described as a fairly successful businessman.

In Robert Lamb’s How Suicide Bombers Work, both the glamorization of martyrdom and its establishment as a gateway to rewards in the afterlife are central, yet universal factors in the suicide bomber equation.

The glamorization of matyrdom is appealing to the often young and naive Nigerian suicide bomber, whose average age bracket is put between 18 – 24. For this set of people, the thoughts that his name becomes immortal is overwhelming. The pride, prospect and glamour at the ‘sense of a holy mission’ is appealing, and this sadly, is a bait their manipulative handlers exploit to the fullest.

‘A gateway to rewards in the afterlife’ should not be ruled out as a motivating factor for the Nigerian suicide bomber. The thoughts of seventy-two virgins for martyrs who paid the supreme price for fighting Allah’s cause is too strong to be relegated to the background. Likewise are the quests to avenge perceived political tyranny and economic imbalances.

So how does the Nigerian suicide bomber justify the killings of innocent souls? Israeli psychologists eager to understand the mindset of militant Islamic extremists postulate that at this point in the mindset of the suicide bomber, no one perhaps except for members of his sect is innocent. He is not about killing the innocent, he is killing the enemy.

  130. Cocaine can make blood vessels in the brain and heart go into spasm and bust. If u don't believe this, goggle it.
Until the toxicology report is made available , no one can conclusively tell us what triggered the cause of this woman's death. The autopsy report as it stand today is nothing but bull. We know the cause of death but the question remains what caused this cause of death. The pathologist that carried out the autopsy should have left the secondary cause as " ? ", as the autopsy as of today is yet to be completed. So, for the pathologist to have rushed to release the result of an incomplete autopsy makes me wonder if standard procedure was followed by this pathologist. Maybe it is the practise of LASUTH to release the report of an incomplete autopsy as complete, who knows. The pathologist/ LASUTH management also tried to cover their asses by saying that toxicology report is needed, but why release the report when you know you have not complete the job? it is not as if full autopsy report is needed before burial as you can collect all the specimen needed from the body so that the body can be buried quickly if that is the wish of the family. The whole thing does not make sense especially as we are in Nigeria ( a country of magicians ) where anything is possible. Be as it may, may the soul of this young lady rest in peace. She has done her bit.
