Fire guts INEC Headquarters voter registry department

The Voter Registry Department of the Independent National Electoral Commission, was gutted by fire yesterday morning. The fire started around 9 in the morning and lasted for almost an hour. It was finally extinguished by the Federal Fire Service and the National Emergency Management Agency. No life was lost in the fire and INEC said they didn't lose any vital data, only office equipments.

  5. The first thing I wanted to ask when I saw this was "how about data?" The lost of vital data from such a vital office could have been disastrous, than God that didn't happen.

  14. There is something called backup system so every vital information must be backed up. For an organisation such as this, the back up MUST run every day and back up tapes should not be in the same building. There would have been no excuse if vital information was lost.

    1. Yea yea! Preach on, in Nigeria backup? They will soon report some missing vital information. All of these is in preparation for 2015, so after GEJ gives Jega 85billion naira to buy equipments, he turns around sabotages and destroys same. Its a shame, Only in naija *smh
