Ivorian midfielder Yaya Toure has been voted African Player of the Year for the second time running. The 29 year old Man City player, who also won it last year, was crowned this evening at a glamorous Glo-CAF Awards Gala that held at the Banquet Hall, State House in Accra, Ghana. Well deserved?
He sure deserves it, there is no other African player better than him at the moment.

DeleteWell deserved award, Yaya was absolutely superb through out last season, in my own opinion I believe he truly deserved it cos Drogba was having injury most of last season. Chelsea without Drogba is equal an average team while Man city without Yaya Toure equals a very mediocre team.

ReplyDeleteI just dont agree wt dis. Yaya's a great player, no doubt, but to win the Player of d year is impossible; he shd av bn 2nd best. what are the criteria if we may ask? Yaya played the nations cup, scored 1 or 2 goals while pivoting the midfield; Didi scored 3 or 4, while spearheading the attack- asides captaining the side and shouldering most, if not all, the responsibilities. Ok Yaya won the premiership wt man city, but didi nearly singlehandedly won the UEFA champs League wt/for Chelsea. D entire thn is like a farce to me. Congrats tho Yaya (nothn against him), but I just dont agree. Not a Chelsea fan, but come on- Drogba deserved this.
