DeleteHow on earth could you compare entertainers with men of God? Warren Buffet who was a 2-time richest man in the world has companies, one of which produces jet planes. He never had a jet to his name. What does a man of God need worldly things for? Their case is similar to that of Boko Haram who hold the position that everything Western is evil, yet they use Western bombs and guns to kill. Most of the makers of these jets, I-pads and other technological gadgets are supposedly scientists who don't bother with the things and men of God - atheists. Why should a man of God live in so much affluence when there are members and non-members of his church living in abject poverty? Why can't the jet, limousines and other expensive belongings be converted to charitable ventures that will create a means of livelihood for the less-privileged? Just a couple of days ago, a boy of 13 was presented with the Nobel peace prize for his continuous donations to poor chilren. When asked what he wanted for his birthday he said he wanted other children to have food, sandals and clothing. Oh, what a selfless Jesus-like gesture. Oh ye supporters of, and ye men of God, I pray that God should use you to bless others and not yourselves, amen. Regards....

DeleteThe problem is that people think that Church is all about sunday morning service and offerings! Churches today do more than that! And these men of God contribute to their members lives on a daily basis! There are churches that have up to 50 or more staff on their pay-roll, and they take care of the accommodation of these staff and sometimes even their children's school fees. I was in church a few days ago and a brand new car was given to a committed member who had been struggling to bring his whole family to church every service day! I knw of some churches that send relief to seirra-leone, liberia and troubled parts of Nigeria! Sadly these gestures don't make headline news! Jesus never advised His followers to be poor! He said He dies poor dat we should be rich. He said those that follow him will receive rewards in this life and that which is to come!

Delete@anonymous 11.10am - I'm sure you are not reading the Bible we Christians read. The good things of life you seem to mention do not refer to material things. These so called 'Men of God' aka pastors in Nigeria must preach salvation, humility and Christian love and not acquisition and love of wealth and greed. They must contribute to the welfare of their members and stop all these material acquisitions.
ReplyDeleteAnon 9:34am, wat ever ur point is, it is baseless how can you compare him to a man of God, is your head correct atol? did he take an oath to serve the church with all his might and give to the poor? Pastors, are meant to be our guide, leaders. They are meant to be inspiration to people within and outside their faith. How does Davido come into the picture? He is just an entertainer and that is how it is meant to be and should be left that way.
