Aluu4 movie in the making

The woman mayor who was kidnapped and murdered by a Mexican drug gang pleaded with her attackers for her young daughter’s life, it emerged today.
Maria Santos Gorrostieta, who had already survived two assassination attempts, was driving the child to school at around 8.30am when she was ambushed by a car in the city of Morelia.

There's an Aluu4 movie in the making and it's being produced by Simony Productions, the Idumota marketers that brought you Blackberry Babes.

I hear the movie will be titled Aluu4. I kinda have my reservations about this movie...mostly because it's being produced by Idumota Marketers who only care about making money and not necessarily as a tribute to the memory of the young men who lost their lives on October 5th. And I'm almost sure no one from the production team contacted the family members of the murdered boys, or even visited the Omoikiri community in Aluu where these killings occurred...and they probably didn't interview anyone directly involved in the case, including the police, to get an insight to what really happened that Friday morning.

Their movie will probably be based entirely on everything written online, because I think you need more than a month of research work before you start shooting a movie based on a major real life event like this. I stand to be corrected tho. Let's keep our fingers crossed and see how the movie turns out...

  6. @Linda exactly my thought. All they care about is money. This is a very sensitive matter. Why now the memory of that terrible incident is still fresh on our minds. Even if I would watch such movie not from Idumota marketers. Mtscheww

  7. i will watch it sha. and the pictures look gory, thank God i didn't see the original pictures of those poor boys. these idumota peeps definitely have business igbo sense, cuz this film will sell like akara. but i'm sure other peple have been planning to tell this story through a film. my only problem is some of these actors look much older than the boys sha.

How can anyone do this, these guys horrific death is still very fresh and you want to open up a wound that is trying to heal. Im sad for Nigeria. you know what, I think the gov't should just try to stop them because it is wrong.

  19. I have serious reservations about this. seems its entirely for profit. its not even been up to 2 months, let alone 6 or 12. pls everything in life isnt about money; lets learn to have sober reflections of events as due. Till this day, there hasnt been any form of art(- movie, drama/theatre, etc.) by American citizens on the horror of 9/11. Why are we so much in a "hurry"; why do we pressure ourselves to hastily cash in on even horrible happenings. I urge govt. agencies to IMMEDIATELY halt further work on that project..LET IT STOP!

Perhaps you may not have realised it but you have reached a level of blogging now where your words and opinions are taken quite seriously and before attacking film makers you should at least take the time to find out their motivtaion. do you think you were the only one touched by this issue and wanting to raise awareness. your comments are disappointing to say the least. did MI contact the family before singing about the aluu 4? lets stop second guessing people and work together

i mean there are 1001 Foreign movies based on lifen stories....

i think the issue here is what linda said about the producers not getting enof info for the movie...

secondly, without the movie, there's a huge lesson to be learnt from the Aluu4 killing.... and that lesson is @STAYING OUT OF TROUBLE'.... what do i mean staying out of trouble? if those 4 young boys had reported to the appropriate school authorities and their parents on what was going on, they would have been unleashed beacause they where wrong on their own side....

staying out of trouble while in the university pays, i think no one has seen wat i noticed about this killing....

The movie is very much necessary for the young ones in school be careful and stay out of trouble... and also try to find out the origin of the community they find themselves during the course of the years in school and avoid any confrontation whatsoever....

  99. The producers and directors are not been fair to the parents and relatives of ALUU4 because the memory is still fresh. I am not a relative but the minute I saw this post tears drop from my eyes and all I could think about was the Whole incident like it just happened yesterday, u can imagine how their relative will feel when they watch the movies. At least Nollywood produces should respect the dead anther parents by give them time to mourn there lost ones before making money with someone pains. Beside 9/11 wasn’t acted or released a year after the incident. Seriously this is a bad timing. Nollywood, please don’t opened an already closed wound, by remember the parents or relatives of ALUU four how their children died. Give them a break.

  100. The only solution to stopping this outrageous stupid excuse for a film is to write a petition to the National Film and Video Censors Board (NFVCB)and have plenty people sign it asking them to stop the production of this thing!!
OR, people should simply not buy ( but we know that one wont work)
This incident is still too fresh in people's mind to be made a joke of.
If there are real ghosts, this is the time to come out haunting o!!
May their souls souls continue to rest.

  101. @anon8.21. u r either a killer the son of d devil or one of ALUU4 killers Or ur parents r involved in the production of dis movie. U r a sick bastard. That all I have to say to u. I pray u don’t loss some1 very dear to u.

  102. Can't the family take out an injunction to stop the production of this stupid movie? Cause I'm so sure the plot of the story would be wrongly told and the idiot behind the production is only after money and would not show what actually happened that lead to the loss of 4 innocent souls

i cannot even watch if its for free. this is bad.

    ReplyDelete
  114. I hope the censor board never allow this "charade" to see the light of day; for God's sake the haunting memories of thee killing of these youngmen are still fresh. Besides, if at all it would be made into a film, I believe we have more serious minded and purpose driven writers/movie directors who would put in proofessional prowess in passing a message across than "money crazy" Idumota traders/producers. I no wan vex biko......#angry.

    ReplyDelete
  115. These Idumota marketers are a blight on Nollywood!

Can u imagine it's taken a little over a month to research, script and produce this so called movie! What kinda quality can we expect???

This is an even that reverbrates deeply with every single citizen of this country and these people are set to turn it into a thing of ridicule!

Haba this is just wrong! The boys deserve a better memorial than this!

    ReplyDelete
  116. I hope the families involved sue the hell out of them, cos na only for dem selfish interest dem dey make d movie, not as a tribute.

    ReplyDelete
  117. i so much hate naija movies..no foresight..there so many reasonable movies to be made in Nigeria about heroes but well na naija na.. Nigerians love foolish things,we celebrate thieves and let heroes rot,we appreciate noise while good music perish,..but well sha God bless naija..

    ReplyDelete
  118. Na wa o!!!!!!!!!!! Nigerians don come again....... mumu

    ReplyDelete
  119. Okay as a movie director and a screen writer I can comfortable say that this can only happen in Nigeria and it is a shame... from whose point of view are they telling the story? why can't they wait till the case is over and justice is served, how much research have they done before even cooking the script to make sure at least it does not in anyway distort ongoing investigations? all these is = Greed +let me be the first to release it+ There is money to be made = Unprofessional and Greed(raised to power 6).
