The Light is just there no shaking at all from morning till night till the next day. I'm surprise, even got to a point i start telling NEPA to take the light.. cos I'm used them taking it off. Great and new things are happening. Thank God oooo! hope is not for 5 term campaign shaaa !

ReplyDeleteFor just 2 wks and praises are flying about. I'll give 'em 6 wks or 7 wks, that is if they can last for that long. You know, it baffles me how folks simply forget the trend. This card has been played out many times over and people just don't get it. It is really sad because ideally power generation is actually a non-issue. The fact that there is still corruption in all public institution, there is bound to be little or no progress, it is all thesame thing and no amount of sugar coating will make it better.

ReplyDeleteit is shameful really....a small industry that has clearance to generate electricity in the US can generate as high as 6000MW some as high as 60000MW.... but for us here it's a good start I hope it is maintained and steadily increased...

Power supply has really improved. I live at Ajah and work in V/I, in the last six weeks, the generators have been on leave which I pray is permanent leave.4,237 MW may appear not significant but considering our recent experience, we have to encourage the government to do more.

I stay in ibadan and light in my area is over 100% better than before... And we still have places in ibadan that are yet to enjoy that...and we also have places enjoying more... But same way it got better in my area and other places, I'm sure it will all over. There are testimonies from people in different cities that light is getting better... I believe in this country and I am a positive thinker... POST MY COMMENT!

They must continue to improve on it and back it up with legislation, spelling dire consequences for whoever that is found to be involved one way or the other with sabotaging the sector.

i live in festac and trust me power in festac used to be long story but today i can boast of atleast 20hours light on a daily basis.. as a matter of fact even if they take the light, i just relax a bit knowing light will be restored shortly..so yes Linda NEPA has improved..i tink we shld concentrate on proclaiming positivity in our life and just maybe we can see changes...

ReplyDeleteI'm commenting for the first time as this is an issue I take personally. I live in Barnawa, Kaduna, and can truthfully say that power has been more frequent in the past few weeks. Nonetheless, this is expected as heavy rains = more water = more power generation from the hydro stations. In short, I'm pleased for now but will be more impressed when the tempo is sustained during dry season.

ReplyDeleteEarly this year we were having an average of 3 hours light in a day in my Meiran area now it has improved to 4 hours a day. All hands must be on deck to chase the NEPA workers frustrating the reform efforts out of office. They are the people holding down the economy of this nation.

ReplyDeleteAs much as one can appreciate your strategy it still sucks. It's strategies like this that cause people to deride social media. As per the person you are evolving to become in terms of status I think you should begin to assume more form of responsibilities.
I believe that your deriding statement above is so unfair and called for and mind you I am not subscribing that you should turn into a praise singer for government or anything so. But please be fair. That's your responsibility.
Now I ask. Shouldn't you at least commend the government for getting electricity to this level? Shouldn't there be a starting point? Must it always be condemnation all the time? If the energy was still at less than 1000MW, we will be quick to say governement is ineffective.
For now that MW is okay because generally the demand for energy is at 4000MW due to the fact that we produce or manufacture barely anything. The moment by God's grace energy can be maintained like this and industries start springing up and government can't meet up the new demands then we complain.
Personally, I'd rather not praise anyone until am convinced that PHCN has got their acts right. But I'll definitely not abuse or deride anyone.
I live in Enugu. Earlier dis year, light used to be once in 3days, but since d past few weeks, it has been like 23hrs everyday. Kudos to dem. Keep upo the improvement.

ReplyDeletei am happy to hear light has improved and my dad also confirmed it, it doesnt matter what happens in china and south africa, as long as we can see a little improvement then we are fine, we too have a part to play, most apartments are overloading the transformers, the fact that you have the money doesnt mean you can go and buy any heavy duty appliances and the fact that the guy said things will improve on monday doesnt mean they wont take light. let us learn to appreciate little things, if a lot of people are testifying that they have light for 20 hrs in a day in the nigeria of today, it means somebody has reduced the money he puts in his pocket and decided to use it for what its meant to do. I am sure there are a lot of saboteurs at work trying to put us back in darkness, but they will all hug wet transformer at the end of the day IJN

ReplyDelete@Linda that's a very big lie ooooooo, they have really tried, i used to spend 15,000 Naira every other month on Generator alone, 500naira fuel everyday, but for two months now i have saved 30k plus some Gen maintenance fees, my monthly NEPA fee is not even close to 1k now oooooo
ReplyDeleteIts not the generation of power that matters but the transmission. Our transmission capability is virtually non-existent. So let them not deceive you guys with all that nonsense! We can generate 100,000MW and it'll not make any difference if transmission isn't sorted.

ReplyDeleteAfter reading most of the negative comments, I am convinced that Nigerians are their worst enemies. This government needs encouragement, not condemnation. In my area in Onitsha the power has been steady for more than a month. However on the next street vandals stole some parts of their transformer. Of course they will condemn the government without ascertaining the cause. And the blame game continues.

ReplyDeleteI live in Ikoyi and got back from my vacation early July and since that day until today I have had light 24 hours for most weeks and power outage for no more than 6 hours combined through out this period. In fact I have used my gen only twice simply because I was watching a programme I didnt want interrupted. The light was restored in about 20 minutes on both occasions. I have only spent 1k fuel since that time. In as much as this improvement can not be compared to other countries, Nigerians (especially those complaining) have done absolutely nothing about it. U complain but have you done a revolution?U cowardly Nigerians..If you can't head to Aso Rock and shoot down all our politicians then stop disturbing your fellow Nigerians working hard to make ends meet.If you have no solution to the corrupt leaders then quit complaining. If you can't even start a small protest, then SHUT UP!!!God bless Nigeria

ReplyDeleteSee my Naija people celebrating just over 4,000MW like an Olympic gold medal. For your information, there are parts of Surulere that have not had light in days. Again, this is not uncommon- we have headr this before! Remember? The next 'story' the Minister will tell us is that water level has gone down and that snakes had afflicted Kainji and Shiroro dams, and that gas was not supplied by IOCs, so we return to 1,000MW and consistent weeks of blackout. Let's stop this senseless jumping like kids when poor, arid Niger Republic built a refinery under one year! We have the lowest power generation per capita in the whole of Africa...Shioo.
