My husband supports my return to acting 100% - Dakore Akande

"I want to use this medium to clear the air. I don't know why they went ahead to say because I became a wife my career was over. That is a very archaic way of thinking. Women these day and age work. We have responsibilities. But I didn't say anything because everything one says about me and I react, I won't have time to do anything with my life. I am an actor but having a family is more important to me, and I am very sure my fans appreciate that. I considered my fans and I said to myself when my daughter is old enough, I would come back to the movie industry. She's almost one now. I am back to acting and my husband supports me returning to it 100%. If he was not supporting me, I would not be doing it." - Dakore Egbuson Akande

  9. Welcome back Dakore. We did miss your beautiful face and mature acting style. And I'm so happy for the fact that you are carrying your family along and got the permission of your husband. That shows maturity and one that has strong Christian values. I respect and appreciate you for that and sincerely hope to work with you one day. Welcome back to Africa's Tinsel town (Nollywood).

    3. You idiot. Actor is correct. It is not applicable to the acting male gender only.

    4. She is very right; she is an actor. Nowadays, the word is used for both male and female.

  16. I found it hillarious when she said she wasnt coming back to acting, i guess the honeymoon was still on. Marriage is a learning ground, i guess she has learnt that, being a housewife will make you loose respect fast, and u will find out that no matter how rich ur hubby is , spending ur own money is sweeter.. Welcome back dear we understand

  22. Good for you, only gold digging women will sit @ home doing nothing, it's 2012 not 1956. Women need to work & stop depending in their spouse. Studies shows that independent working women are less likely to be abused both emotionally & physically by their spouse.

  23. I respect her so much
She is one of the handfull of nollywood actress I truly respect (as well as Genny, Steph, Rita and Uche Osutole and that's it for me all the rest are a non motherfcking factor in my books and aint about this life).

She and her husband are so damn cute and the baby is gorgeous.

Such a gorgeous family. I hope she keeps her friends to a minimum cos lawd knows all them hungry husband snatching horse hair wearing nollywood bitches want her spot.

  24. Abeg make she park well joor. She has seen that the money is not so available like she thought. Akande is a very rich man but does not dole out the cash like that. If dakore likes, don't work o, hunger will finish you.

  31. ONOME says......
Which one be "winch of Zion"???lollll

Abeg go back to work o,u hear.I really wonder how women get married and stay as housewives alone without doing any form of work be it formal or informal(open a shop, sew, knit, online home business etc etc)

Even if your husband can afford the air u breathe in,there is that feeling of self accomplishment when you are earning some kind of cash through your own personal effort. How really boring to stay home morning to night claiming your children and husband and home are enough preoccupation for you.U are likely to turn to a nagging wife too cos that external stimulation is just not there.Oh well, what do I know????

  51. @ Sexy22 - when two ppl re married, they become one, which simply means that they have to take decisions together. U shld by now knw dat family comes first to any serious person, and her man being d head of the family, y won't she need his permission?
