ESUT Vice Chancellor Kidnapped by Gunmen

The Vice-Chancellor of Enugu State University of Technology, ESUT, Professor Cyprian Onyeji, was kidnapped by unknown gunmen in front of the university gate around 11: 30am yesterday morning.

According to eye witnesses, the gunmen ambushed the VC and his police escort at the main gate of the university in Agbani, Nkanu West LGA of Enugu State, as he was returning to campus. Three of his police escorts were seriously injured in the gun battle that ensued during the kidnapping. After demobilizing the police escort, the gunmen dragged the VC's driver and orderly out of the car, jumped in and drove off with the VC.

Prof. Onyeji’s whereabouts is still unknown as the kidnappers are yet to contact his family or the school authority.

    I heard his kidnapping is linked to his decision to "cancel" the admission of several final year students after being students for up to 5years... If this is true, can you really blame the kidnappers or their sponsors???

    E be like Hollywood movie so they demobilize the police escort com kidnap the vice chancellor how nice wat is the ransom. the kidnappers mite not even ask for moni they mite ask the v.c to give 1st class to certain group of students very nice we are getting creative in this country i hope next they kidnap the president or his boisterous wife
