'Why I signed Jaysleek to D'Banj Records' - D'Banj opens up

Multi award winning international artiste and entrepreneur, D'Banj, has officially confirmed the signing of prolific producer Jeremiah Shelika, popularly known as Jaysleek, as a producer at D’Banj Records.

Speaking on the new signing, D’Banj expressed his delight, noting that 'it is a sure sign of great things to come.'
This has been a long time coming so we are really happy to see Jaysleek join the D'Banj family. It’s exciting to be working with one of the best; Jaysleek is a fantastic producer, hardworking, humble, and immensely creative. I’m so certain that he will carve a niche for himself here at D’Banj Records and inspire us to even greater music,” he concluded.

  3. Dbanj my entertainer. I wish you all the best with sleek but i must say that oyato was an epic fail. Forget abt all this liars telling u that its dope. They are washing you. U are a very good entertainer. In fact africaz no.1 entertainer. But oyato didnt do work. Let no1 deceive you, u need to put alot of effort in the next song. I know its not easy to write a song but i believe in u through the song u did wid Mohits. I didnt feel the energy of my entertainer in oyato. The words of the song arent all that. Jay sleek's mixture with 2face works perfectly well. Try another song with him. If it doesnt work, please ask Don Jazzy to produce for u. He does it prefectly well for u. By the way, wat happened to kanye? Have you relocated to nigeria?

  6. For those of u saying dbanj "should go back"...may ur futures never be in reverse. Oyato is comparable to mohit songs and that was a typic dbanj. Lil'wayne let manny fresh(his producer since he was 13yrs old) and got his break, lollipop....u cynics are daft u know. Jazzy left dbanj...and since he "made dbanj" he should make another dbanj na...we are all waiting Jsleek is d future.get on board or get lost

  9. Evn Ojb can't lay claim of making 2face, or has he made another 2face ni? And today 2face is working with great producers in d industry n churning out hits...2mao now everybody will expect on jsleek to produce all of dbanj's album. That na lie. Welcome to d fam mate...GGMUB

For those of u that said why is dbanj doing in Naija...u all have the same brain with Jazzy bcos jazzy thot dbanj was gonn be stuck to america that's why he ran back to Naija and left his own friend and partner however contrary to that the game plan was/is to break into d american market not neglecting his root...how else can he do that if he doesn't try?I know how much donjazzy wld have made from all these shows if he was still wit dbanj right noW he should milk his gel Tiwa salvage ;) instead....nomore dbanj hot money for his a**, Jsleek shall chop it instead

  22. Dbanj is on a grand delusion. J sleek was meant to work with raw talents like tuface not dbanj. Besides, he needs a humble fellow to achieve anything not a braggart.

I dont't even see this signing surviving more than a year cos of atitude problem.

As for that oyato,i did not bother to download it but the first day a dj on a radio station tried playing it here in calabar, he could not endure it for more than a minute before, first puting it off before switching to kukere.

It is honestly not dbanj.it is not in shouting 'i am skibanj'it is d beat that made him and beats that are customised and always evolving not static.
I wish him all d best but he has to work on the way he rubs off on ppl.

Dbanj first album with good will be released in 2013 but there is a statement i like to recommende for him and all his follwers from john legend of good music about associaring with ye

'Being attached to Kanye is only going to get you so far. You’ve still got to have the records, the talent, and the artistry to carry it on your own. John legend'

ye is like an examiner and don't do much in terms of producing the jamz until a finished work is presented to him, this is as i deduced from the interview on complex magazine

  25. don jazzy is not better than any other producer in nigeria but there is just one thing he does better:not going back to hits he made;i mean re-using beats.

I love him for that and then he knows how to fit them to the right persons.
    Some of the hits:
    1.pere
    2.botty call
    3.igwe
    4over the moon
    5.pop something
    6.bumper to bumper
    7.scape goat
    8.oliver twist
    9.ten ten
    close to you

just some not including the monster of the new era where he did ballads, rocks, apala, highlife gbo gbo ti gbo.

He is great guy.no one like him for now.

No other producer has the same record except for jude okoye.

  31. You said na don baba we know? D`banj is better known in Britain than don baba now.

Let us hope D'banj does not release OYATO in Britain because Don Jazzy will be vindicated with the last laugh.

OYATO means the end of hard work and a return to 'sufferhead'. The production was rubbish. Too much broken Engkish and no authentic lyric.

  33. For record purposes "Oyato" WASNT a dope track. I believe dbanj can still work with other producers but cant say it worked out with this last effort. Pls linda can u clarify-is dbanj on def jam africa or dbanj records? Dont understand again. Also side bar comment - he's seeing how cut throat and ruthless the music biz is in america. Hope he can cope, he had a good thing going, he shld have "tried" to work it out. Now he's like the enemy of the state and he cant seem to shake it.im sure i'm speaking for many if i say "we've missed the real kokomaster". And he's not back yet.

Dbanji. I have been defending your honor. The first record didn't quite get there. However, if these Americans are bleeding you dry and they are obviously trying to, remember what brung you here. Naija brings out the best talent in people and we still love you. These yankee people don't have anything to offer. I live here and can tell you say I don see dem finish
