This happens in some churches in Abuja. Worshipers are subjected to thorough security checks before being allowed into the church premises. #fearofbokoharam :-)

  7. Linda dear searching the members bag will not stop the bombing. What if they boko people go a night before the day of church and plant the bomb there then it explode the following day while people are there during the service? Our problem in Nigeria is security and not searching people's bag before church service.
Anyways God will see that Country through

    1. Obiviously this is Coza, our pastor is just trying to be extra careful. Nothing can happen to us that's for sure, but for some pple to come to church n feel safe physically we go through this measures.

  10. Yes o. It is better to be checked than dead. I cannot remember when last I took a bag to church, what's the point when no bag is allowed inside the church premises. These days in Abuja, you just pick up your Bible and handset, Period. You also have to come to church with a hardcover Bible. No switching on of phones even to read soft copy Bibles, so that no one sends out text messages from the church.
Mind you, the church check points can keep you outside until late, so if you want to make it early to church, you just have to leave the house earlier than usual. Even ladies' purses must be opened. B. H. has made going to church very stressful in Abuja.

    1. Why are you cursing now, if your a true Christian then you should know its true, weather you like it or not we are all gonna die someday, the deal is where will your soul go after death, heaven or hell? Search your self and if you haven't given your life to Christ this is the time to do that cause calling someone that doesn't even know you a fool is a sin too. Hope am even talking to a Christian, God bless you.

  34. This is so stupid! All I can think of is what sort of protection does this guy checking the purses have? You find a bomb then what? More logistics needs to go into security rather than searching purses. A group that has successfully bombed so many buildings will carry out their tasks, one way or the other unless something more drastic is done to prevent them.

  53. So churches can take security measures that are human? LMAO! Why una and your magician pastors no quote biblical passages and speak in your fake tongues to perform miracle to banish boko haram.
Now that the real thing is hitting you guys, your powerful pastors are now powerless abi? Sebi dey like to play god, oya use aggressive prayer and leave your church doors wide open. Silly people. These are the same churches that'll tell people to pray for miracle for healing instead of going to hospital, the same idiots that'll lie that one fake or imaginary enemy is after you... now see them acting like scaredy cats. I thought you served a living god, abi una god don die? Stupid business men claiming to be men of god. God punish all you liars. See as boko haram is exposing your fickle faith.

    3. With all the insults you have hurled at the people of God, which God again are you praying to punish dem??? Even Jesus' apostles had weapons with them for protection. At the last supper, He asked them what they had and Peter said they had 2 swords and he advised them to hold onto those swords. Wisdom is profitable to direct. You do not tempt God by not taking precautions. The churches also use armed police men to patrol the area and have metal detectors and scanners. This pic just shows a portion of the crowd and what was being done. Pls give urself a brain!!!

  54. Its a normal thing in all churches. We park far away and walk 5mins or more in high heels to church.

The annoying thing is the National Mosque right here in Abuja had the whole road cordoned off just like they do in churches last friday.
Would Boko Haram bomb their benefactors?

  55. How will they handle the situation when a suicide bomber drives through???Will they stop and search that?

    ReplyDelete
  56. Thank God..... People are becoming wiser! This is the type of measures that need to be set in place. The government should make this a national procedure for all churches. I was sick and tired of people saying "pray pray" Like use wisdom! I hope all churches will follow :)

    ReplyDelete
  57. This is so pointless, why not get something else to make a buzz about?there is absolutely no crime in taking precautionary measures besides the Church in question has in place several security measures before service, during service and after service so my dear verify your facts before publishing!

    ReplyDelete
  58. sometimes self this linda ikeji blog is useless....see one thing here saying christians wll be praying in fake tonguess. i lack words for you!

  59. Can someone please humour me!? Who/what are they trying to protect? the church members, pastors or the church building? If the purported 'Boko Haram' were going to bomb, what will be the easiest target? the mass number of people outside or the building? And how will checking people's handbags stop a bomb from going off? I guess ignorance is bliss to the unsuspecting/unassuming members of the church sha.

    ReplyDelete
  72. Why not. Went to the museum the other day with my kid and some friends and everyone was scanned with an electronic detector so I do not see why churches in these times in 9ja should not do same. The only thing is one person carrying out this task is not adequate and they also require the electronic scanner wand - lot quicker and would detect anything on a person not just bags.

    ReplyDelete
  73. They need more security than that

    ReplyDelete
  74. NYC-1 says: Everything IS WRONG AND STUPID with this security measure. This is playing into the hands of the enermy inadvertently. Suppose one of them join the queue (line) and blow up himself, what do you think will happen to the innocent people lining up?

  75. I believe Abuja is relatively safe so no one should fear or cause unnessary panic. Bcos of the times we live in,searching of bags in church is an applauded precautionary measure o! High time evryone became security conscious. It is well wt Nigeria and may God grant security operatives who wrk tirelessly the wisdom to tackle this BH menace once and for all and may God also expose all the enemies of this country?Amen!

  76. Everybody wants to go to heaven to see Jesus, but none of them wants to die. Why don't the scamming pastors, bishops, overseers, prophets, archbishops pray Boko Haram out of existence? Or will the scamming and thieving religious crooks excuse themselves that it is the will of God for people to suffer at the hands of zislamic terrorists.

Please, Nigerians, please wake up and stop wasting your hard earned cash to the likes of TB Joshua. Fireman, and all the other religious crooks.
