  6. Na wa for Nigerian hustle. Not one of them was an official torch bearer, I think what they had was photo ops arranged by their corporate sponsor.

The official site has the name of every torch bearer, theirs do not appear, nor were they shown in yesterday's livestream, even though that's when they allegedly carried the torch.

I cant find Funke on the list

***sports journalist Adetokunbo Ojeikere,Ezeigbo Damson and Ifenyiwa Uzodinma are the only Nigerians yesterday on the list

  21. ***Black Hertiage radio investigations revealed that the names of these Nigerian celebrities is nowhere on the list of torch bearers for the next relay holding on July 1st in Coventry city, England.

We can authoritatively reveal that sports journalist Adetokunbo Ojeikere,Ezeigbo Damson and Ifenyiwa Uzodinma are officially the only Nigerians bearing the torch at the Coventry event.

The last Olympic touch relay holds on 27 July and the names of these celebrities did not come up in all our findings.

  31. OOO please this fake story again. I watched it and these lots where no where in sight and i wondered why. A quick road to google showed that its all a lie and hype. Only 3sport journalist nigerians were on the list yesterday ..
Them Banky, Funke , Kanu just go take picture , borrow touch and pose . I watched it . Kanu doesnt need all this cheap pubilicity because he is actually very accomplished in the sport area......SMH

**how stupid do Nigerians think we are, Oyibo publishes and list everything . Online you can see the list of the touch bearers.

...Them for talk say them dey come cheer the official touch bearer and not make it sound as if na them be the touch bearers

    ReplyDelete
  33. Which touch did they carry ..... ????. Nigerians and lie lie. I am sure a local sponsor just organised a wannabe version of the race because Sasha, Banky, Funke and Even the well deserved Kanu were not official touch bearers yesterday . I didnt see them onTV so i checked the list and there are not listed either. It was 3 sport journalists from Lagos that were official touch bearer yesterday

    ReplyDelete
  34. Cough Cough .... I checked the link someone posted above and i no see Banky or funke on the list http://www.london2012.com/torch-relay/torchbearers/day=2012-07-01/index.html

    ReplyDelete
  35. There were 8,000 torchbearers from all over the world. People were selected from each country, based on some level of achievement and charity work. Infact, it was rare to have any sports people... this was more about people who have contributed to their societies in one form or another.

It's a shame that some of our people find every reason to tear down, even when they don't fully understand the situation, they are quick to lash out and hate. I'm proud of them for representing Nigeria well, along with thousands from all over the world.

    God bless Nigeria.

  41. So people sha, they think we are stupid. UK try to make everything as transparent as possible. On the london2012 site you can see those who are touch bearers. 8,000 people were selected , unfortunately Banky, Sasha, Funke, Kanu and samson omonuna were not selected .
Yesterday had Adetokunbo Ojeikere , Ezeigbo Damson and Stephen Onukwube all from Lagos. Those were the only Nigerians on yesterday event. I watched it for a bit

  44. I wonder why Kanu Nwankwo did not apply to be an official bearer, He certainly would have gotten it deservely. he has contributed a lot to sports . This cheap publicity he no need am , Nigerian media are carrying that he is a touch bearer but i watched it yesterday and didnt see him on it. I checked the list of 8,000 people and he is not on the list either .
As for the rest people listed on this blog , o ooo please them wish, Banky W and Funke Akindele where nowhere to be found on the live program

    ReplyDelete
  57. There are official torch bearers and there are people who were given the torch by the corporate sponsors of the event for photo ops and what not. The 9ja people here were in the latter category.

If they were in the former, they would be in the official list of torch bearers.

    ReplyDelete
  58. Na wa o and na the same website all of una wey no see funke or any listed above?
HHonestly speaking,I saw Sasha, first I didnt recognise her but when the camera zoomed closer then I realise she was the one (I even want to send the link but by the time I send n before Linda publishes it,she wud have finished her part) and I saw Funke too and she was the last who finished her race in that area, cant remember(she was even making some funny gestures) but these two I saw and they are authentic touch bearers(I didnt see the rest of the list becos I was kinda of busy but I saw these two, selah!

  60. THIS IS UTTER CRAP! Are musicians and actors the only people to be honored as torch bearers? What about doctors, Engineers, Professors, activists, social workers? Nigerians, why do we worship MEDIOCRITY??? No wonder our kids are failing in school. They don't see the point working hard in school cos the only people we respect are musicksians and Hacktors.

    ReplyDelete
  61. u guys must yarn oooo...if someon started dissin u u'd start huggin p for africa.....if funke Akindele is ugly, did she create herself ni....d person wey dey yab sef i sure sey u no go fine....i appreciate my naija peeps abeg....

  62. In all we have less tha 10 of us from Nigeria carrying the torch.(http://www.london2012.com/torch-relay/torchbearers/community=bletchingley/index.html)Our Nigerian celebrities were given the opportunity to make Nigeria Proud.Didier Drogba carried the torch in May or June but was not on the official list.
I am on the official list but was never involve in any sporting activities.I was nominated by a former colleague while working with BP UK because of my ability to put smile on people's faces and conduct my duties. You can imagine, for something as simple as a smile.8000 people are carring the torch and can tell you 70% had no link with any kind of sport or any major achievement. What matters most is that those chosen have been honoured and have become ambassadors.Lets be proud of ours.
