IG of police releases his personal phone number

The Inspector General of Police, MD Abubakar, yesterday July 5th published his personal phone number to allow Nigerians reach him directly to make a complaint, report any policeman misbehaving...or if you have any security challenges.

The number is 08059666666...but good luck trying to reach him. The number is permanently on 'the user is busy on the other call, please try after some time.'
#scam! Lol

Not only is it a scam but 666 na devil number oooo. I rather see a misbehaving police man than dial 666 for my already dead 3310.
The man is trying to win our support but it's not good enough. His wife has his main number and his mistress has the other main number.

  23. Nigeria with our usual "wrong" way of tackling things! Nobody need the IG phone number. Make emergency line available in every local police stations. And make it workable and known to the population. And also make the response of officers and men of the force to emergency situations propmt. That is what we need. Dont centralize everything.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Linda ,I actually called him and he picked my call. The line is open and running perfectly.

    Barbie.

  25. One major problem wid ds country is our lack of appreciation.
Who told u dat d Nigerian Police dosnt have a help desk line. Abi has any of u gone, or askd a police officer in ur state for d help desk line for dat particular state and he refused giving u(call d IG and tell him who).
This is a man who willingly gave out his number to d entire nation, to call in time of distress. una dey hear dey yan B.S.
This anonymous *smh*. I don taya, linda, who b ds anonymous???

  29. IF THIS STORY IS TRU. THEN ITS EITHER THIS GUY IS A BIG FOOL OR HE ACTUALLY THINKS ALL NIGERIANS ARE FOOLS. FOR F..KS SAKES IS THIS THE CUSTOMER SERVICE POLICE HELPLINE DEPARTMENT THAT THEY SHOULD SET UP WHERE THEY WILL HAVE TRAINED PROFESSIONALS TAKING DIFFERENT DISTRESSED CALLS AND STAND BY PERSONNELS READY TO TAKE ACTION AT EVERY SECURITY ALERT. ABEGI MAKE UNA NOR DEY DECIEVE UNA SELF NAIJA STILL HAS A LONG WAY TO GO. ITS NOT THAT THEY DO NOT KNOW WHT TO DO BUT THIS PEOPLE ARE HEARTLESS, FROM THE DEVIL HIMSELF GREEDY BASTARDS, THAT HAVE REDUCED THE COUNTRY TO A TERRIBLE STATE, WHERE DO I EVEN START FROM. IF I START I NO GO FINISH. D ONLY THG I CAN SAY IS ITS A BIG PITY.

    1. Please quiet and stop talking trash! If u don't know just say so rather than display ur ignorance here. There is a distress number for each state! Av called the one for Lagos before when my friend was kidnapped with her car and a front desk personnel answered it and transfered d call to police, pls pple should appreciate their effort! If u really want to scream, go the NASS and Aso Rock where those who rob the country are! Dnt blind us the CAPS here

  33. Its only in nigeria that an IG gives out his number to the 150 million people....what happens to having functional police hotlines...with that no IG direct line is needed.

  34. Like having his number changes anything. Schweeeeeeeew

  35. Seriously? That's his idea of tackling the problems of the force?

    ReplyDelete
  36. isnt this dumb on his part? now people are going to be calling for the syupidest things and the battery will go flat quickly which will result in not being able to pick more important calls.

  41. To all of you who called the number, without really having anything to report, you have succeeded in wasting your time, as well as his. Nigerians, we just know how to misuse information. Did he do wrong to want to get genuine information from aggrieved people directly, rather than from a third party (that may be compromised)? *smh*

  42. Some people say they should open a hotline. Thats how I came to Naija 2 yrs ago for christmas Hols with my brother. Around 11:30pm at night while relaxing and watching tv upstairs with family, We heard some commotion going outside. Fast forward 10 mins later: I, My brothers, and parents locked our self in the master bathroom and called Rapid Response. I will never forget the response. The foolish girl on the other end of the line sounded like she had just awoken from a deep sleep. I said " Please can you get the police down here. It seems like some people are trying to break into our house or our neighbors house cos the noises are very loud outside". The Bitch (yes I said Bitch) said "we dont have fuel in the van. We would have to wait for someone to come in and fuel the vans first before they come over". She took my cell phone number and address and never called me back till today. Its just God that saved us we called Estate Security and they came with guns. It ended up being one of the semi-completed vacant houses that was being vandalized by robbers. SMH! Still so scarred by the whole incident.

  44. So IG work now has included being a call operator ikwa? If him dey ansa calls,na which time he go take do his own. Scheduled work eh? I sorry for the man sha, seems he is out of ideas. I had thought he will organise so each. Ward or at most LGA has its hot line and a coordinating mechanism to manage and follow up such calls; just saying.....MMM

  51. Nigerians, you guys are totally the problem with Nigeria. An important man gives you his number for a genuine reason and you throw insults at him? Solutions are discovered thru trails.

Wake up and smell the coffee Nigeria is changing, so pls try and change with it or you can die so we can change
