GEJ's aide, Mrs Sarah Pane, cautions on use of social media. Hehe!

The Special Adviser to the President on Special Duties and Social Development Matters, Mrs Sarah Pane, has said that the negative use of the social media by Nigerian youths is impacting negatively on the country's image. She added that denigrating Nigerian leaders through the medium has become a pastime of the youths to the extent that the Nigerian President has become the most insulted in the world.
This is not the type of record we want. Let's use the social media for positive interaction", she said

Since the woman follows what's happening in the social media, how come she hasn't told Mr. President that the youths are restless & restive because they have no jobs to keep them busy & his government hasn't provided an enabling environment for entrepreneural experiments?? To even think that she's a woman & as such should feel the pains of the youths as a mother!! #Hypocrite!

We should have prattled endlessly via social media about how Nigeria is a country where great things are happening, how our corruption rate has dropped significantly, we have 24 hour electricity, alternative sources of fuel for our cars, food and wine flowing down the streets, the fact that we reign supreme when it comes to social justice, laws in place to protect women and children, crime at virtually zero and security at an all-time high, the fact that the country's economy has never been better because there are positive factors in place to encourage entrepreneurship, and that the aviation industry is absolutely superb. But most of all, we should have praised our president and his dear wife (qualified most aptly to assume the role of permanent secretary and have full access to a retirement fund)to the high heavens, expressing most truthfully how much faith in him we have and how much we love him.

    Our bad.

  62. The President used this same social media to canvass for support and votes from Nigerians when it was election period.it was the same medium he used in reaching out to us the ordinary Nigerians,he sold us his Transformational idea through this same social media. Most Nigerians were convinced and believed Nigeria is ready to be transformed, that was what made the President got votes from every part of Nigeria.
Now,the leaders in govt are telling us to ordinary Nigerians to stay away from reminding the President on the promises he made to us all through this same forum, its not reasonable to do. This is the only way we can remind our leaders on where they are not living up to our expectations,we have that duty to remind them.
To our Leaders, what I need them to do is to deliver on their promises & I'm sure we will propagte their image to their own advantage.
To we Nigerians,I implore us all to desist from abuse & insults on our leaders,it does not speak well of us as a people, let's criticise them constructively and proffer ways of improvements for them.
We all want to live in a better Nigeria;including the leaders, cos they won't be in power for ever.
    God bless Nigeria.

Unless they are going to remove freedom of speech from our constitution, public expression in social media is a hugh part of free speech dumb asses.

  96. She added that denigrating Nigerian leaders through the medium has become a pastime of the youths to the extent that the Nigerian President has become the most insulted in the world.

Why is she coming out with these words. You're complicating things. Will that make any effect. GEJ should serve his people as well. I remember when GEJ use to receive αll the praises, support and encouragement like no other leader in the world. Check yourself.

  112. Mrs Sarah Pane deserves a slap in the face.

Ain't no stopping us --- we're on the move to use social media (anyway we want) to retaliate and humiliate Nigerian's thieving politicians. Nigerians are fed up of being lied to, robbed and deceived by it's hopeless and FOREVER corrupt leaders.

It's insulting for Mrs Sarah Pane, PDP, and GEJ to tell us what not to do on the Internet -> worldwide wide web. Even if the government in Nigeria clamps down on those inside Nigeria, how will they clamp on Nigerians who live outside Nigeria?

GEJ's admistration and PDP are on a massive collision course with Nigerian youths - if this social media issue keep coming up. It will anger a lot of youths and it will massively backfire on the government. Nigerian government must drop and forget the issue of suppressing FREE SPEECH on the Internet.

The only way people can stop bashing GEJ, PDP and co, is IF THEY STOP ROBBING NIGERIA, STOP CORRUPTION, and do the job they were elected to do.

GEJ AND HIS HOPELESS PDP AND OTHER POLITICIANS, INCLUDING THAT PARTRONISING AND FOOLISH DAVID MARK, MUST STOP BRINGING UP SOCIAL MEDIA ISSUES OR WE WILL TURN UP THE HEAT ON EACH ONE OF THEM.

WE HAVE POWER IN OUR HANDS - its called MOBILE PHONES and it's more deadly and mightier than Russian TANKS. Remember, Arab revolution started on Facebook through a MOBILE PHONE. Nigerians have far more mobile phones than the Arabs.

If you're a politician in Nigeria, be very afraid cos either we get you kicked out of office by using the social networks or we have you jailed (like James Ibori) after you leave office.

President Goodluck Jonathan and his administration and PDP are the most CORRUPT in the whole of AFRICA, and the sooner each one of them is jailed for life, the better for Nigeria and Nigerians. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH.

And before u know what was happenin,it metamophosed into full blown violence and civil unrest. If the British had not been smart,it wud hv escalate to UK. History might repeats itself, dis time in Africa,Nigeria precisely.May Go help us.
