Bishop Oyedepo's N2billion assault case dismissed

Bishop Oyedepo this morning won his N2 billion assault case in court after Justice Ojo of the Ogun State high court dismissed the case on the grounds that the application lacked merit and that the 'slapped lady' remains a ghost victim.

A Lagos based lawyer, Robert Igbinedion, had filed a lawsuit on behalf of a girl who was filmed being slapped by the founder of Living Faith Church (Winners Chapel) during a deliverance session a few years back. Mr Igbinedion failed to produce the girl, making it impossible to have a case against the Bishop.

What does one expect from a lawless country. when the nation cant even be bothered with preserving the life of its citizen (as in d nysc case), how would they bother about human right violations? on the other hand though, if the girl was so concerned with addressing the issue, she should have made herself more visible. what's my own to be using panadol to someone else's headache sef *eyes rolling.

    1. Not necessarily so and by the way are you suggesting that because someone is a man of God he can get away with assault or any kind of misdemeanur or even crime?

The case for me was not going to go anywhere anyway. The moment you enter a man's church and accept their doctrines you are inadvertently putting yourself under the control of the pastor. Whether that allows him to slap you is another Rev. King matter.

    1. How is it that we are always quick to jump into conclusions? I have seen the clip and believe u me the girl insulted God and that provoked the man of God. Even Jesus in his days flogged the people buying and selling in the temple of GOD. It's a question of faith, if you don't believe in what Bishop David believes in, why come to his church in the first place? And mind you the girl willingly came for the deliverance the man of God never forced hers and this said girl later came back and apologised to the man of God (guess u didn't hear that side of the story mumu). So watch your dirty mouth and know the real story b4 u start talking rubbish. Pls I don't go to living faith but let the truth be told

  53. Dear Linda, he didn't win the case, it was dismissed because the plaintiff obviously refused to turn up! Maybe the girl backed out cos she didn't want issues, or maybe she was harassed. He was awarded costs which is normal in such cases. It was not tried on the merits! If it was a criminal case, the story may have been different.
