US accident investigators arrive in Nigeria for Dana crash

The Commissioner and Chief Executive Officer, Accident Investigation Bureau, Capt. Muktar Usman told newsmen yesterday that a team of accident investigators from the National Transportation Safety Board in the US has arrived Nigeria to be part of the ongoing investigation of Dana Air plane crash that killed 153 people on board and over 10 people on ground at Iju-Ishaga in Lagos on Sunday June 3rd.

Hopefully, they will tell us what actually led to the crash!

    1. erm the airplane's Black Box was sent to the US upon recovery after the crash. Regardless of investigations in Nigeria, avaition experts in the US who are in possession of the black box, will still examine the recordings from it and make known what happened

  7. I hope it wont be a wasted effort. What was the cause of Sosoliso plane crash? What was the cause of EAS crash? What was the cause of Bellview Crash? what was the cause of ADC crash? should I go on? what were the actions taken after such investigations to mitigate against it? Does NCAA conduct routine inspections on every aircraft that flies in the air space? How safe are we really when even the airports do not have uninterrupted power supply? Lets get serious in Nigeria and we will progress!!!

  19. why do we have an Accident Investigation Bureau if every time something happens we have to fly in "experts"? The Chairman/CEO is there collecting salary for doing what exactly?

we've had a lot of unfortunate incidents which experts were also flown in to investigate and till date we've never been given answers. So they should please stop deceiving themselves and allow the grieving families to bury and mourn their beloved in peace while depending on time to heal and God to comfort them...

  36. I'm sure they wud find out the cause. Prolly not accurately but they will give us a clue. I trust my US team. When a plane falls tail first, head first and stomach first, there is usually a specific cause for each. Let's keep hope alive..

  51. I hope wen they conclude the investigation, we get to hear the truth. Trust naija, they ready play politics on this and ghana-must-go will exchange hands and d blame goes to the pilot, afterall he is not alive to recount wat happened. Ie if d no renew dia license to operate. "If the truth be told" like Adesuwa always says. U guys should watch out for any new airline that will spring up in the next one year or two. ...e fit be a resprayed and undercover DANA.
