New Music: Pelli - Turn Her On

After his previous effort which is a cover of Terry G’s Trowey tune that was widely accepted with great positive comments about the young artist, Pelli (formerly known as Chycopelli) is back with something new under his newly signed record label Raindrops Records and he calls this one “Turn Her On
In his own words: I just wanted to do something with sex appeal for the ladies. Listen to the song below..

Pelli's Bio
For some music is a means to an end while for others, music is part of their essence. The latter category is one that has singer and songwriter, Pelli (formerly known as Chycopelli), in its arms.  He describes his craft as an extension of his being and his music as an Afro fusion sound- a feel of the heartland.

From miming to songs done by his favorite bands from the tender age of 5 and performing for his friends and family from when he turned 12, Chike Uffundu aka Pelli has always shown vocal strength and a passion for the art of music.
Blessed with killer looks and still uncertain of his path, a younger Pelli enrolled for the maiden edition of Mr Heartland pageant: a decision that saw him emerge as the first runner up and gave him the clarity he sought to pursue his dream of being a musician.

Unfortunately, juggling his dream  and his Political Science undergraduate course work at the Imo State University was not as easy as it had seemed, so it was only a matter of time before the former took a backseat.

Resilient as ever, he continued writing, recording and performing his songs to all who would listen. A decision that birthed the formidable blend of sounds located in his chords.

In search for a better launch pad for his music, Chike moved to Lagos and actively started recording his songs and promoting his art.

Because he understood the need to experiment with his style and his sound, he enrolled for another talent search- Do your thing. This time, it was a hunt for a versatile performer. Pelli, armed with vocals that can only be described as dexterous, sang his way to emerge the winner of the first edition of the show.  In response to a how do you feel now that you won question asked by a fan, he said, 'winning this, has only showed me the need to better myself, because people now expect more.'

The sexy looking vocalist believes himself to be fun loving, easy going and family oriented and describes himself in one sentence as, 'I came, I saw, I remained.'

He broke through with his first effort - Catch trips, under an independent label in the fall of 2011 and enjoyed huge positive responses from famous Nigerian blogs and social media. While still reveling in the success of his single, Pelli's joy was doubled as he was signed up as the star act of RainDrop Records.

In just a month after Pelli signed his record deal, he went ahead to serenade fans and critics alike with his sexy and gritty freestyle cover of super star song-star Terry G's “Trowey”. This move gained him even more acclaim and helped solidify his claim as a star to watch out for.

Pelli has since been endorsed by industry top notch celebrities 9Ice, Dare, Teey-Mix Shank and Vector, Dj Zeez, all of whom acknowledge his rising potentials.
