If this is news to you, then let me fill you in. Nigeria international Taye Taiwo celebrated his 27th birthday on April 16th 2012. On the morning of his birthday, some mischief maker sent out a BB broadcast (that went viral) claiming that while Taye was celebrating his 27th in the UK, his twin brother was celebrating his 39th birthday in Nigeria. *Stifles laugh*
But it was wrong info as it later emerged that Taye's twin was actually a girl and had died when they were just two months old. Reacting to the broadcast, the footballer said:
I don't know what kind of sick joke this is, or the kind of sick person who will come up with it. I did not even know my twin. I was very young when my father told me that she died when we were young. Why is it that people are always looking for a way to bring others down? I don't understand it.

It's due to the fact that most people believe that footballers lie about their ages to play longer. Taiwo may look old but I doubt he's in his 30s. As a footballer, your pace will have left you by then but that hasn't been the case for him

Taye should know that people suck!! End of story. It's unfortunate that some jobless imbecile would start such a rumour. ReplyDeleteI saw the bb broadcast and i wondered if TT lied cos i've read the interview in kick-off magazine before where he said he doesn't have a twin anymore. With that said i think there's a touch of hypocrisy in people criticising him for age cheat. Walk into any civil service office today and see how people are falsifying their age. Go to the courts and see how false age affidavits are being sworn like there's no tomorrow. My friend went for NYSC at the age of 36 and yet he will always criticize national team players for being too old. Do you know how many times ladies celebrate their 21yr birthday?

They conduct MRI scans on them which from their bones, tell how old they r! 4fuck sake, we r not living in d dark ages here.
