The incident happened early this morning at the Woji Area of Port Harcourt, Rivers State. The Rivers State police commissioner told reporters that the jet was on routine maintenance at the NAF hangar in Port Harcourt when the missile accidentally took off and hit an uncompleted building a few kilometers away in Woji. Fortunately there was no death or injuries, just panic among residents.

ReplyDeleteI wonder how a missile was left on an aircraft while it was being maintained in a service hangar .. And besides for those of us that know all about fighter jets .. For a missile to be fired it first has to have its safety cap switched of by those who load the ordnance , then armed from within the cockhole before the firing sequence is engaged .. So this story has some hidden stuff in it

ReplyDeleteWe thank God there was no casuality. It happened a few miles away from my house, but he effect on everyone was terrible. Everyone ran for cover. Our mind went to BH attack! The sound n vibration was heavy.
