    3. I'm happy he didn't sleep with you . Why would you even try sleeping with a married man? You go marry o & don't be mad at your husband if he sleeps around. Women! Respect yourself & other people's wives even though you don't know them. Karma is a bitch and you know a bitch has no mercy. #justapieceofadvice . Sleep on it!

  5. Linda, I can assure you that this is not a Nigerian airport. There is no preference out here. If Fashola wants to board a plane in the US, he would have to take off his shoes and Belt. Nothing about humility there. I recently was on the first class queue with Simon Cowell in Chicago O'Hare and He removed his shoes. Thats the way things ought to be done.

  8. Linda, Linda, Linda, the question is; Is this a Nigerian airport? Cos it doesnt look like it at all. If na for Naija, even though he's not a gra-gra kinda man, but he wont be in the queue for sure as they'll whisk him thru VIP area.

    ReplyDelete
  9. This was definitely out of Naija. It is not a big deal here in US. Its only in Naija that big worship politicians and rich guys.

  19. Same attitude Nigerians have when NEPA finds it in the right place to give you light and you all shout "up NEPA" for what you pay for. What is the humility in gov Fash carrying his bag and queuing? It is the normal right thing to do and we have been so pushed that we don't know right from wrong anymore. Obama carries his bag and even goes to shop for his kids, he buys pizza and carries it back to give his staff and it is not a big deal. I applaud Fash and the like of former gov. Duke but we need more from govt and public official.

  25. I hope he has some security looking after him in the background. He is still a governor. In other western countries they might be on their own but they have their security in the background official business or not. Even Margaret thatcher still has security around her.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Helloooo, dat aint Naija airport, no prefrences aboard & moreover it could hv bin he was queuing for passport control at the port of entry.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Guys this is not about how things ought to be, looking at how his colleagues in nigeria behave to airport staff, like femi fani kayode, whom i saw on TV troubling airport officials, its a commendable effort, am not in lagos But I've seen much about the exception qualities of this man, please let's encourage him so that others will follow suit

  28. Err... Firt anonymous. A man constantly refuses to sleep with u and u had the guts to come here and say it? Buhahahahahahahahahahahaha. Shameless tramp."Me and ur girls. ReplyDelete
  31. It's not so much of a security problem outside Nigeria/Africa.

I agree that this really is a down to earth approach to life. Many people with power and affluence travel with a large entourage, whether or not they have to follow airport protocol like everyone else.

  43. In the cause of being humble some other things needs to be taking into consideration...For God's sake this man is a governor and he represent the whole lagos citizens and by that i believe he deserve some respect. If this is Naija Airport then i don't see any reason why he should be on queue. Just like the saying that we should give honour to whom it's due, he deserve to be honoured and no need for him queuing in the airport.

    ReplyDelete
  44. he is simple and humble man thats why till tomorrow i love and admire him and MRS......GEJ n other govt should learn that.

  47. Sometimes some people talk crap sha. The guy is very humble and does'nt have time for frivolities. As a Governor, he does'nt have to queue
on the line. Protocol allows him to board last.(right at the tarmac, assuming its a domestic flight) But he is showing you that if he can do it so can you. Thats the way it should be! Leadership by example. Thats why those old school men in ACN can never understand him. I have a lot of respect for this guy.As a matter of fact, when i travel, i see all sorts of inappropriate behaviours that are very shameful, perpetrated by our so called leaders both politcans and spritualleaders.SMH

  49. That's how it should be. It shouldn't be surprising at all. all government workers are public servants, and should be humble enough to act like every other human being, because they are exactly just like every other human being. But kudos to him for displaying such humility, which is completely non-existent in Nigeria.

  59. This is not a Nigerian airport. That's why he's in the queue and holding his own bag. People should stop this spin. Which part of the MMI airport looks like this? Abeg!

    ReplyDelete
  60. That picture doesn't look as if it was taken i Nigeria....Am sure he was in a country where law and order is the norm. They all behave themselves when they come abroad, but turn to madmen the moment they step into naija......That's why I respect the west, everybody is equal before the law.

  61. Well, I once saw the Speaker of the House of Reps - Aminu Tambuwal, at the MMA2 (domestic airport) in Lagos. He queued up to board a Dana airline flight to Abuja and he was carrying his own bag. One man recognized him and rushed to help him with his bag but he refused. The man was even trying to get him to shunt the queue but he refused and stayed in line. I was definitely impressed. I remember in the days of Bankole, he hardly ever flew commercial. Strictly private jet, with a retinue of aides and security personnel. This is what leadership should portray - humility in service to the people.

Ironically, on the same day, I saw a woman at the Aero check-in queue, who was making a fuss about the staff not giving her preferential treatment because she had a business class ticket and complaining loudly that if her husband were with her, they would be falling over themselves. I was truly irritated by the woman. Obviously one of those uncouth nouveau riche people, who show that money can never buy class.

  71. People are funny... Being governor of Lagos state means squat outside the shores of Nigeria. Heck, even being President of Nigeria means nothing once your time in office is over. Heck on top of Heck, I remember when George Bush was President, his mother, Barbara had to remove her shoes to go through airport security in the states.

Now if Fashola is truly humble and what not, let him go live in Ajegunle in a face me I face you as most people of Lagos State do, then we'll know he is humble.

    ReplyDelete
  72. One time, my friends and I met Peter Obi in Nnamdi Azikwe Airport, we refused to believe he was the one, because he sat down @ d waiting lounge and we could not spot his retinue of aides.

We dared my friend and he went to meet Peter Obi and they got talking and exchanged cards.

When Peter Obi's flight was announced, we saw his aides who were in strategic positions in d waiting lounge get up and follow him.

    One word. Humility.

    ReplyDelete
  73. Nothing new here- quite a lot of Nigerian officials are humble but why would you want to go through the stress of being harassed by immigration and drugs officials who don't even treat you with courtesy at the airport when you are leaving the country??? Leaving is harder than entering Nigeria!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  74. I guess people are not used to seeing a governor in the queue. You can even see the distance between him and the other poeple in the queue, thinking, what is this man doing here!

    ReplyDelete
  75. This is him o. i have had the opportunity of seeing go through the same thing in Nnamdi Azikiwe Airport. He refuses preferential treatment. So those of u doubting weda itz a Nigerian Airport or not? thats ur ansa.

He's pedigree speaks volumes too.(check his CV) Thats why a lot of us were mad at him for falling into that bad gang. He represented our generation. Pray he bounces back into rekconing.

Thank God we still av some sane pple in dis country. Fashola has singled himself out of d corruption menace that has laid siege on dis country. Tho we dunno his own flaws too but @least he has some acceptability within d populace. I think our leaders re just insane! And 4 d whore spreading her legs all over Alausa plz tell her 2 find a better job cos very soon dos in2 dos prostitution will go in2 extinction.... 9ja 4ward ever backward never!!!

    ReplyDelete
  83. Lol @ protocol stating you can board last... Must be in Naija and only in Naija. Over here, you can be on a flight IN economy class next to your congressman, your senator or even your governor. Heck, numerous people have flown next to justices of the US Supreme Court, even the chief justice sef, in a commercial flight, in economy class. Yes, all of them go through all the same protocol an average every day joe goes through.

It is in naija that foolish ego makes people think they are special.

    ReplyDelete
  84. It is sad this is a topic. Today what is big in the news in dublin, Ireland is and I quote , 'the reasons why Nigerians are loud'. We are always in the news for funny reasons . The Shadow minister of defence today said 2/3rds of nigerians live on less than a pound a day. I say interesting

    ReplyDelete
  85. First commenter, you are a DOG! the way Lagos girls go around trying to sleep with big men is something really pathetic. Why cant girls maintain dignity nowadays, and are the ones now chasing men?? Imagine someone I know recently saying that she wishes she had that tiro jazz stuff girls put on their eyes so that she can catch one man like that.(and she is married o) , so that she will be using it, so I have decided to cut off such lowlifes from my list of friends.
ladies, please lets embrace being respectable women. Imagine the governor telling you that. Girls, get a life, a career and stop preoccupying yourselves with looking simply dulling up yourselves and waiting to be whisked off by some big man.'

    Its getting too much abeg!!!

    ReplyDelete
  86. @ anonymous March 13, 2012 9:17 AM. you too you are a dog also.
Believe it or not, no matter how beautiful you are as a young woman, you will age and grow old.( if your sins don't kill you before that intended time). interestingly, there will always be young girls, perhaps like you are now that these old men will rather have at that time, (Rather than an old doggy hags that you would have become then) . The only thing that will stand the test of time is your integrity, dynasty and a properly built career (if you have done any one these)
so, keep on prostituting yourself and looking older by the minute.
    harlots!!!

  87. He wasnt in the queue joo, all the guys aroun him are his people. Hakeem Bello, Fisayo Ishola, Rasheed Murhi Okunola. So they are carrying his other bags. Fashola is not really humble, hes diplomatic and playful with people he likes and trusts. Yeah his ADC opens his car door for him. And the girl wanting to sleep with him? U ll tey for there, he has eyes only for his wife and a yellow woman he has dated since being a chief of staff, she works in Alausa too

Yes, if that is an airport abroad, our leaders are very humble.

Part 1: Can you imagine I met our own former defence minister gen danjuma in the UK some time ago, and we were in the lift together, couldnt believe it,cos he behaved like a real gentleman cos if its in naija who born monkey to even smell where e dey with all the security over sabi details around him. As if that is not enough, we got through to immigration and those officials for some unknown reasons, drilled the man tire with questions that even me that got off couch was done with immigration in no time.

Part 2: Got to lagos airport on my return and who did i see? madam daisy the wife and daughter with so many huge sealed luggages and our annoying yes sir yes ma naija soilders in uniforms acting in their gra gra manners loading and pushing all the luggages away, i just shake head carry eyes commot.

So people, yes our leaders are very humble abroad, but to oga fash, well, e dey try for humility!
