President Jonathan orders the arrest of #OccupyNigeria activists?

From Saharareporters.com
In a bid to undermine the growing protest against his government's removal of fuel subsidy, President Goodluck Jonathan has ordered the SSS to arrest civil rights attorney, Femi Falana, Fiery Lagos pastor, Tunde Bakare, ex-member of house of representatives, Dino Melaye and and Kaduna based activist, Shehu Sanni.
Two sources within the State Security Services told Saharareporters that the security agency had received presidential instructions to move against these four men as well as other perceived organizers of the resistance against the government's dramatic  increase of the price of fuel.
"The presidency has decided that the way to break the protest is to go after those that the government believed to be the brains organizing the #Occupy Nigeria protests, " said one of the sources.
Can the president do this?

You can't arrest the activists carrying out this Nigerian protest in other countries, and WE the people are still going to keep protesting no matter what you do. No backing out now. Wasting your motherfukucking time! Time you can use to take care of the fuel subsidy and other relevant issues in Nigeria, you are arresting. Both you and your entire administration are FUCKING stupid. Idiot. We'll show you that thousands are better than 1!!!

  35. I dont particularly trust sahara reporters and their sensational stories. In my opinion they dont practice true journalism preferring sensational stories without enough evidence to back it up, so until those people are actually arrested before I comment.

  48. The american government want us to go to war in order for them to take over n steal our fuel... Jonathan means well with this fuel subsidy removal but he did it @ d wrong time! He wants to perform and so the nation why he made the decision he did but hasn't being given d chance. However he cud hv put some things ryt 1st so it wudnt hv such a disastrous effect on d masses. Let's not condemn him 2 death, he shud tackle major issues n wen we've seen vast improvement Then we can let d hyke in fuel prices slide but not by 100% increase...Habah! He also said it was a temporary discomfort 4 a permanent change. Jonathan is not a dictator but what other measures can he apply? He's reduced it below #100.

  49. If he does this, he will be inviting total breakdown of law and order. People will revolt!

  50. think you guys. he has the power to do it. its constitutional. instigating the public against govt is an offense which BAKARE and FALANA as lawyers should know. stop arguing blindly get a copy of the 1999 CONSTITUTION as ammended

  51. I am particularly interested in Pst.Bakare. I think oga Bakare should go back to the pulpit or else he should keep quiet. His actions/attitude are COMPLETELY CONTRARY to the teachings of The Bible. Oga Bakare, where is the Spirit of LOVE and praying for your leaders?

"When I was in Port Harcourt prison as a political prisoner serving a life sentence during Abcha, Falana was in Gumel prison and Mr Goodluck was just a lecturer enjoying himself at home in the company of his wife.I have spent 4 years in prison and have been to over 30 police cells and 5 prisons during the struggle against military rule. I have also been to many sss cells and even miltary cell in Apapa. It is funny that anyone can threaten us with arrest. We forgive those who only heard of us recently."

  53. All of you abusing Tunde Bakare are IDIOTS of the first order!!! So he should fold his hands and watch his people suffer and perish? He is supposed to watch the insensitive Govt. to impose untimely deaths on the poor, hapless masses and close his mouth? Because he is a Pastor? Read your Bible well and see the rejection of Jonathan (sorry, Saul)and others.
Anybody that says anything negative about Tunde Bakare must be a beneficiary of Jona's Govt. and/or must have been bribed to write all these rubbish. Useless people!

  54. From every indications and recent happenings, it is now very clear that our President, GEJ, is the official SPONSOR of the Boko Haram Sect. As a student of Criminology, I can assure you that Jonathan has hands in the activities of Boko Haram. He pays and sponsors them. He knows all of them, the leaders, their operations and etal.
If you want proof, I will give you ten facts that justifies this. GEJ is a Thief and a Killer that Nigerians never know. He is even more deadly than OBJ.

I also watched the "occupy Nigeria" protest and observed that the stupid ambassador and meeting organizers did not stand while Nigerian national anthem was being sung. They were all busy doing their thing, thinking of new ways to steal. Shame on them.
