GOH! There's a 'whites only' restaurant at Nigerdock, Apapa?

Information reaching me now is that there's a 'Whites only' restaurant in the premises of Nigerdock, Apapa, Lagos. The British management of the corporation has dedicated one particular restaurant to their white staff and all blacks dine in all others.

Nigerdock is owned by the people of Nigeria but managed by a British group.

This is wrong, right? I'm putting this out here so the right authorities can go investigate...

    I hear abt so much discrimination in Nigerdock. A frnd who worked there once told me one of these white guys once referred to Nigerian staff as 'black monkeys'. Its so saddening that we could be molested on our own land,and even in our own company.Its not hard to knw or say, some of our leaders and forefathers sold us into slavery in our own land.Or what would you say of a company which is supposed to pay its staff salary in foreign currency but some Nigerians who are at the top in such offices would say no to such.'pay them in naira' Its so shameful *smh*Only God can deliver us in this country from our own 'home slavery'.

    I certainly hope this is not true. It is things like this that the Nigerian Senate should be investigating and debating instead of same-sex marriages. How many people are openly gay in this country? Being gay is still considered a crime not to talk about same-sex marriages. Even if the Bill were to be passed, I doubt that gay folks would take advantage of it because of the stigma that is attached to being gay in this part of the world.

    This information is completely wrong. I have visited and worked at snake island as rep from an oil company. Nigerdock has two restaurants (canteens) one which serves international foods and the other which serves Nigerian dishes. You are allowed to eat in anyone, however as expected, most Nigerians opt for the Nigerian canteen. This is typical of most oil/gas operation and or construction sites in the country as a result of the large number of expatriates.

    I know for a fact that in Siemens, there is a particular rest room which is used by only whites.

    In Juluis Berger, I equally heard (a long time ago o) that the same applies to a particular room.

    Can you imagine such happening in an Asian country?

    Hey Linda! Are you really sure about the authenticity of this information because it is a serious allegation to put out there. There needs to be concrete facts to really show that this is true beyond doubt.
    For example, is there any evidence to show that they refuse to serve food to other races or nationalities apart from the white British people?

    If it is really true, then it should be investigated immediately by any of the Nigerian security forces. They should be sued and deported from our country as soon as possible.
    If this is false, then your credibility has gone down the drain for me.

    this story is real and accurate because i am a live witness to this issue.i serve with a client company at snake island and happen to be one of the few Nigerians that they couldn't stop from eating there, however, the nigerdock Nigerian staff have been moved to a less equipped canteen and given N200 as against $25 per meal at the "all white shore club restaurant". only international dishes are served now at the "shore club restaurant", the national dishes have been stopped. well, i guess the management have been made aware of this blog and have taken quick steps to rebuff this facts by hiring a photographer to snap "black clients" eating at the restaurant during lunch hour today, i did create a scene when he attempted to snap me. if and when the management put up those pictures on the media, please ask how many of those blacks are "nigerdock staff"?. one time, i clearly overheard the Lebanese Admin manager mention in a conversation with his fellow expatriate that "snake island is a free zone and so its not a Nigerian territory hence local rule don't apply".. Alongside, there are many more areas of discrimination and deprivation the staff have been subjected to as concerning company policies which consummated in a protest and shut down few months ago but their voices remained unheard. workers were called "black monkeys" and addressed with statements like "when republicans talk, democrats should shut their trap"... Yet,members of the Rep visited the company 2months ago and returned with praises on the media on the state of things ( after been treated and overfed at the same "all white shore club restaurant"..it quite pathetic what is witnessed on a daily basis in the company, asides the fact that foreigners are brought in on a regular basis as diggers,truck drivers,caterers etc (let me spare the photos) and paid in outrageous foreign currencies.. if the government should be sincere about policies, welfare and labor laws they should hear from common Nigerian nigerdock workers toiling under the sun to receive peanuts with unexplainable cuts at the end of the 31 days of the month (inclusive of weekends and public hols). our local content policy need to be alive to harness this error

    And after all that hoopla online, the question remains what are Nigerians going to do about this if it is true...What are Nigerians going to do about non-Africans who come to their lands, set up shop and treat them like scum...Pray about it? Cry about it? Do nothing about it? You can scream the white man/women this and that all day and night, but if you aspire to be like these people in every way possible - in your physical appearance and manner, reject your traditions in favor of foreign ones, etc, then stop complaining.

    It's actually true. I ate there once after being told the management was so GRACIOUS to make an exception. It didn't sink in then. This is really rubbish.

    O boy na the same thing for here ooooo. For Nestoil here we the blacks eat food without salt,half chop and in a broken plastic plate while the so called expatrate eat everything good and they are specially served, for my own country ooooo.
