Kanu Nwankwo's people confirms acquisition of N2billion Lekki Property

They may have seen your comments in my last post (click here if you missed it) and thought "wth, these people think Kanu can't afford N2b property?"...:-), so they've come out to confirm it. Kanu's business partner and spokesman Ayo Igam Ikon told reporters "Yes, it's true. Kanu Nwankwo has about ten properties at Stillwater Estate, Lekki Phase 1. I was even instrumental to the acquisition".

Meanwhile, the retired footballer has resumed work as Special Adviser to the Imo State Gov. on Sports. He resumed two weeks ago and has been in Imo State since.

  1. Kanu's ownership of houses in Still Water Estate is not news. This we all have known for over two years now, besides I can confirm to you thats an exaggerated cost. Linda you go ahead and for once do your own investigations on what the cost of a building is here because I live there. That said I can't say if Kanu can afford N2b. He has made enough money for himself in football and image rights but you wonder if he does have N2b how come he is not putting a considerable amount into the Heart Foundation... One word for you also Linda... You do an incredible Job but I will want you to always check that your facts are always right (I'm sure you make a considerate amount blogging so why don't you commit some to this and see how credible you will become)
    Thank you

  2. Silly of Kanu's friend or whatever, Gam Ikon to even comment on it. He should have kept quiet. Nor be evrything for blog person dey react to. Ok, Kanu get houses for Stillwaters, how that one take put garri for people table? If he is that rich why does he advertise on radio for donations to the Heart Foundation? Or is it the funds from there that has bought the houses? Don't get this twisted, its good to see modern footballers of Kanu's ilk investing wisely but the hullabaloo seems insensitive. Everyone in Nigeria wants to show they are in money, meanwhile the country is just one sick slum!

  5. Who cares really if it's 1 million naira or 2 billion naira? Kanu is a Property merchant so his portfolio is pretty hefty.

On the flipside, maybe his peeps are making their own money by the side and have inflated the figures for him. Kanu is very shrewd though so it will not pass him by. I know of some people who have done that to Jay Jay Okocha in the past!

If he doesn't have 2 billion naira cash in his bank, I’m sure any bank will help to finance his businesses. Also, his house in Barnet alone is worth at least £4 million pounds and he can get shedloads of loans and facilities on it. If he goes to any bank with his Owerri properties/land documents or even Hadley suites document, he will get any amount he wants.

So, when the Championship season starts, i believe he will shelve the SA role for a while and go back to Portsmouth? I can deputise for him as an Imolite. LOL!!!
