First floor is for RCCG.

And 3rd floor is for AG Worship Centre.

The competition on Sundays for members no go easy. 'Sir, are you sure you want to go to the first floor? There's this great anointing service going on on the 3rd floor...maybe you should check that out instead"...lol

  6. I just discovered what's behind the proliferation of churches; according to current church doctrine the tithe belongs exclusively to the MOG to chop so you can imagine that some are making a 'killing' from their congregation.

I used to wonder why MOG used to get all uptight when their member moves to another church (no be the same God again??) especially if e.g. an assistant pastor leaves taking some of the congregation, it dents the pockets of Pastor! No be small matter o, hmmn.

Meanwhile I found this online and read it, I used to not want to read beyond what my pastor said but I think it makes some sense. I still give more than my tithe but not because anyone calls me a robber (I am saved from the curse of the Law) but because I want to give as I am a child of God.

  11. Serioius laughter.
Anon 14/03 10.24pm and when you are not satisfied with the third one, you’ll move to another church on the same street! Only in Naija. On Apapa-Oshodi Expressway, there are buildings like this one and you will always see an RCCG.
Funny how you never see other churches in the same building with white garment churches. Does anyone know why?
Church business is the fastest growing business in Naija and they prey on the sheeple.
Anon 14/03 8.17pm. We covered the issue of tithing in a post last year. I had similar references to your link.

  13. The problem called Pentecostalism is not in the un-contraceptive spread
of churches, it is in how they corrupt the roots of our thinking and return
us gradually to the primitive age; that is why pupils take their pens and
pencils for blessings so that they can pass examinations, that is why some
dip their passports into anointing oil with faith so that they can get
visas, that is why many accept prayer and fasting in place of good medicare,
that is why many give 10 per cent of their earnings to the churches so that
this madness would have no way of stopping.

  16. @anon 1.26. it's not only pentecostalism.u shud go to catholic churches and anglican churches. i think they are worse but they cover up their sins better. i think catholics are bigger hypocrites than pentecostals. wth? no contraceptives?the cathlic church is one of the most corrupt institutions in the world.

  17. Nigeria needs help when it comes to these buildings and their exterior designs. they are such an eyesore, really. i mean, if someone wants to construct a building, must the person be so cheap and basic about it? all these buildings all over that resemble this church need to be torn town and rebuilt with style. people may crucify me because of this(saying this is the least of priorities yada yada), but i believe it really would make a BIG difference. maybe people won't have such a "down and out" outlook if there was some style put in. like top of the line architecture?
buildings like the iCinema in port harcourt is a good example of what to do.

i know this story was about churches and what not, but the building captured my attention more than anything.

  18. Toyin 2:44pm, do you understand English at all? Anoymous 1:26 is talking about uncontrolled spread of churches not about corruption. Please read and understand. Shikena!
