Women march through streets in Jos to protest killings

Hundreds of women march through the streets to protest the killing of women and children and destruction of properties in Jos, Plateau State in central Nigeria on January 31, 2011. The women, dressed in black took to the streets demanding the withdrawal of the army after soldiers fired at protesting students at the weekend.

  1. Where are the men? How come they didnt join the march? The men should have joined at least to boost their number and also for moral support.

  2. You know how it is in Nigeria now, it is the women that fight for rights but men claim the benefits. I hope their protests are duly answered. It is heartbreaking to see so much suffering in a part of Nigeria. Go grant us a leader granted with the foresight and strength to bring peace to our nation.

  4. Men are being arrested on mere suspicion of being involved, then u want them to protest? One of the points raised by the women was the heavy hand that was being used against their men...
