Bomb Blast in Abacha Barracks Abuja

A woman surrounded by relatives, mourns the death of her husband at Asokoro Hospital, after a bomb explosion near a military barracks in Nigeria's capital Abuja December 31, 2010. At least 11 people were killed in an explosion at a crowded market in Nigeria's capital Abuja late on Friday, military and medical sources said. The blast occurred at Mammy market, within the grounds of the Sani Abacha barracks, a busy area where people congregate to socialise.

How unfortunate...!

More pictures from the blast when you continue...

  4. @Nigerian Film and TV Addict, pls, dont make conclusion on the fact that the culprits are muslims and as such, "muslims are terrorists". These are fanatics and they are trying to cause havoc.
My heart goes out to the victims and their families. This is not a *happy* new year to me...

  5. @Nigerian Film and TV Addict, the Abuja bomb blast was not done by Muslims it is MEND behind it.

For all I care I believe all this blasts happening in Nigeria are politically motivated and they are busy causing divisions between religions and people, its a shame. My prayers and sympathy goes to the casualties and their families and our Nation Nigeria. We need serious prayers.

  7. nigerians must realise that the whole bombing thing is not for religious reasons...to me its all political...our politicians are behind this, making the ignorant culprits believe they are fighting for religion. i believe no religion preaches violence so the big question is...what is their aim??!!

may the souls that have departed the world rest in perfect peace..and may the Almighty grant their families the fortitude to bear the loss.

  8. I am sick and tired of Muslims claiming that their religion is peaceful and they are very peaceful when they keep bombing everywhere. The world is tired of their apologies and I don't care what they worship as long as they keep it to themselves.

@Olofofo, Islam teaches terrorism and extremism and if you want to prove otherwise, tell your faith friends to stop the bombings; we have seen enough blood. Stop trying to put it on "some group' of people. Terorism is a crucial part of Islam.

If only God Almighty can show us a true depiction of Hell fire.....i bet u a lot of pple wd change. God Save Nigeria!

  11. This is so crazy, i grew up in abacha barracks. I am sincerely praying for God to be with the victims and for that the Nigerian govt. takes a serious look into those involved instead of sweeping it under the carpet like they usually do. They should not mess with the military oo.
