Quote of the day

"The president was once a child, and the senators were once a children" First Lady Patience Jonathan during her speech yesterday

Don't laugh, we all make mistakes...
OK, you can laugh. How can you make that kind of a mistake reading from a script?
Somebody must have deliberately put it in there.
LMAO!

  10. It is easy to make such a mistake if you did not read the speech that was written for you before going on stage. It is better to talk with 'bullet points' in front of you than a 'script'.

Whoever wrote the speech should be sacked immediately. It is better for her to employ English Language graduates as speech writers.

Madam, don't mind them o. Just remove "a" from the sentence and na you biko. Afterall, I no think say you go pass Modern school, sho! Abi I lie?

  13. I would rather take she and Goodluck's grammatical errors then deal with leaders who refuse to communicate with their citizens. At least we know they are humans. They just need to learn how to use a teleprompter. Obama uses one, it is nerve racking to go up there and give a speech in front of people.

  15. Linda, where were you when GEJ pronounced SPONSOR as SPONSURE? It is not fair to only nail Mrs GEJ's spoken English.

I laughed for a while. I taught it was Buhari of the 80s. Even Buhari no longer talks like that.

Going to university does not mean that you are adequately educated at times but it helps...

In the 70s, a Nigerian Professor travelled to the UK and mistakenly wore a dressing gown. He taught it was a coat and he was a JJC.
