BBA 5 All Stars update : The barn gets physical...

Watch the clip of Hannington and Lerato having a face off.
I think Hannington should be asked to leave for laying hands on a woman. Not cool...

  1. na wah o! like play like play na im katakata burst. Shame Hannington shoved Lerato. On the flip side I would be very grateful if someone could point out when it is safe to cross over from the argument that women should be treated same as men, to the argument that a man should not hit a woman even though she provoked him. Is it an exception based on the differences between the physical strength of men and women? It seems like men are expected to curb their tempers while women may have free rein with their mouths, while hiding under the 'a-man-should-not-hit-a-woman' shield. I'm not advocating Hannington's matter, I'm quite indifferent towards the fellow. I actually believe that everyone, male and female, should try as much as possible to refrain from resorting to physical blows. I noticed how everyone immediately went into 'a man should not hit a woman' mode; but unless a man is mad he wont just hit a woman without provocation, would he? Just how much can a man take?

  6. Ok i don't agree with Hannington fr beating Lerato but pls Lerato wouldn't just shout up. she was getting really annoying. i like the girl and all but.... no am not a guy am a girl!

  7. Here you go again.... Should Hannington be asked to leave the house because he raised his hands on a woman or because he raised his hands at all?

I'm a woman and will not condone battery in any form but i think Lerato was drunk and over-stepped her bounds...For Christ sake she was at face level with the guy and was just going on and on....

Physical assault is bad but Verbal abuse is just as bad... If Hannington is removed from the barn, then Mwisho should leave for the Meryl case and Kaone should also leave for all the things he did to Uti over the weekend.

I agree Hannington should be punished for his act but not sent away from the show esp. since he's been of good behavior from the start. He's the longest staying barn member and his positive energy has kept that barn the way it is - A place of healing.

Have you ever wondered how the barn would have been if our Uti or even Paloma was the first person there? It would have been real Fire for fire...

  8. BBA just keeps getting worse...if they're not sleeping with themselves, they're quarreling or fighting.....from me sah, the guy shouldn't be asked to leave...if its allowed to have sex with a woman on a programme watched all over africa....then its also cool to beat a woman up in that same programme....abi no be so???

  9. What are u guys talking about?...women are allowed to run their mouth...we are women for Christ sake...but men are not allowed to raise their hands no matter how provoked...besides hannington was the first to get physical...

    ReplyDelete
  10. that kind of behaviour shouldn't be tolerated. if he's not punished then other guys will think it's ok to shove/hit a women when provoked.

  11. Why are pple saying Lerato ran her mouth for Gods sake? They were exchanging words, ordering each other to shut up,sit down e.t.c Its not like Lerato abused Hannington, she only shouted back at him.
Besides,Hannington had issues that he needs to resolve, same thing almost happened with Elizabeth and Mzamo last season

  12. No excuse whatsoever.

  13. Linda i beg to differ, women are not allowed to run their mouths, its not your prerogative as a woman to be loud mouthed. Lets not even talk about how uncouth that is. Bottom line if you get up in someone's face like a man, you run the risk of being reacted to like you are a man. P.S I am a woman. I love Lerato's outspokenness but there is just how far you can taunt a guy, besides it does not require rocket science to realise hannington is a loose canon, he is no yacob

  14. Oh pls Linda come on! am i girl but women take for granted the fact that every one in d world is fighting against women abuse and he just hit her he didn't abuse her so lets nt blow it outta proportion should he beat her no BUT did she misbehave YES!

    ReplyDelete
  15. and Linda i see you believe a woman running her mouth and provoking men is a behavoiur that should be condoned or tolerated.
I understand that a man should not hit a woman and vice -versa. But it is important that you put urself in his position and tell me how easy it would have been to control urself or walkaway. I believe equal punishment should be metted out to both

and from what i saw, she stood in his face shouting, it is only fair for him to push her out of his face. He did not strike her with a blow or a hot slap which i believe would have been needed for her to come back to her senses :)

  16. Thank u Linda oh,why will a matured guy show the whole world that he cannot control his temper.....gosh if u re a woman who like ur guy to treat u like dat den pls marry Hannington...

  17. He should not have shoved her knowing that the world would shout "physical abuse".It was hard for him to walk away, but that is what he should have done.

and you Linda, that is major BS, women are not allowed to run their mouths where i am from.It is uncouth and disgustingly rude.Verbal abuse also is a from of ABUSE.

  18. For the sake of T V..and international precedence, send the self-control lacking bastard home. This is how the rest of the world take a cue from Africans. At the rate which African men overseas are abusing/murdering spouses...this shit better not be condoned.

    ReplyDelete
  19. He took the bait poor sod..women would always try to provoke you to the point of doing something like this or even worse..as a man you just need to leave the house..scene..wherever to cool off

    ReplyDelete
  20. I hate when Africans try to talk American, throwing the F word around like ignornants>

    ReplyDelete
  21. Well, {really} I think she deserved it. If anything, she should eat healthy and watch her weight. Obese bastard being drunk on national/international TV. I suppose this is what an IDEAL lady should act like. Respect is reciprocal. We're all human, she pushed him to the edge and he reacted. We're higher animals, but we still are animals.. with {maybe} tamed animal instincts.
Please, cut that guy some slack, after all he didn't slap her drunk ignorant self.

  22. It is shocking to know from the comments that some women and some men are actually supporting this disgraceful act. A man must NEVER raise his hands on a woman no matter the circumstances. Be man enough to walk away from the situation. In civilised communities, it is an unacceptable behaviour. I watched the clip, even though some claim he did not hit her, what I saw was an act of violence towards her. He could not handle her and his ego kicked in. For the women/men supporting this act, I pray that you or your daughters never experience abuse.

  23. In life everyone should learn the rules of boundaries if u dont want to be hit please dont cross the line, and if u ask me lerato over crossed her's. Hannington is human after all n lerato could have provocked even the holiest of holies with that senseless drunken act,n Linda a bein a woman is not a license to run ur mouth like an uncouth savage n im a girl too

Both Hannington and Lerato are @ fault; Lerato was just running her mouth ceaselessly- she should learn how to respect men for whom they are. Hannington raising his hand (even first)against her is another disrespect on womanhood. The two of them are not good Ambassadors of their countries...SHAME ON THEM

  25. There is no reason to hit anyone male or female. If someone gets on your nerves with their words then you either fight back with words or walk away.

While she is annoying, he got agitated and got in her face, she was talking from distance.

    ReplyDelete
  26. I am woman and I would just like to say that I do not think there was any wrongdoing on Hannington's part....Lerato pushed him too far.

Linda, it's not acceptable for women to run their mouths anyhow as you thought...you stand the risk of being beat sown..I wonder why women use the 'it's not acceptable to hit a woman' line after they provoke men. Guess what? men are only human! Made of flesh and bone and when you provoke a man in the way lerato did, he looks to you like a man and attacks!! She affronted him and stood up to him, faced him like an equal rival even daring him in her stance and he was expected to treat her like a lady?

I'm sorry to burst your bubble people, if you watched closesy, you'd see Hannington did not advance towards her, rather she kept coming up to him and she hit him with a bottle....He mostly pushed her or should I say shoved her away and here some people are talking about how he 'beat her up?' KAI! If it were our Uti I wonder how it would have played out sha!

  27. OK, i take it back. women aren't allowed to run their mouth. men aren't allowed to raise their hands on a woman no matter how provoked. there's absolutely no excuse

oh ton, you don talk am finish.
if a woman doesn't want to see the other side of the loving, non-abusive man she married then she better start learning how not to be a bitch that can't seem to shut it when necessary.

  29. @ Lilian, no one is saying what he did was right, but please do not fail to see how she provoked. It was action, reaction...She went on and on, thinking that she is allowed to run her mouth. There are boundaries and she clearly crossed this line.He should have walked away though, but he shoved her.Was it right?NO...Do i understand where he was coming from?YES!...Lilian i hope you too won run your mouth, thinking you will get a free pass!

  30. Am so sorry but Africans are soo backward at times. She was running her mouth and 'misbehaving' so he had the right to 'correct' her? Is he her father??? She was running her mouth not hitting him, and if that poor girl had not held him back he would probably have battered her. If someone is running their mouth and insulting you, God gave you mouth insult them back or be a MAN and walk away.

What is manly about lashing out at someone because they were getting on your nerves and throwing insult at you? Its childish, irrational, animal-like and very uncouth. So if he was to kill her the judge or jury should acquit him because she made them angry.

No adult, man or woman, should engage in physical force to prove a point, we're not wild animals!

And to the women saying ' am a woman and I think Lerato deserved it' next time you put too much salt in your stew and it pisses off your husband and he beats you black and blue...you also deserve it.

  31. @ Neel gbam u don talk am finish

  32. Amen to that, Neel!!! Bloody Nigerians. That's why progress is non-existent in our country. I believe their contract said "No physical violence" so whether H hit a man or woman, he has to go home. We have GOT to learn that there are consequences for every action/choice.
Secondly, it is totally infantile for all y'all who are going on about how she was running her mouth. Erm,I believe he was running his too. I don't hear anyone calling for his head.
And to those "I am a woman& I agree with physical violence to women" females, all I can say is May God have mercy on your children..and your children's children...and your children's children's children!!! Because you do not have the facilities to teach them the values that will enable them distinguish between right and wrong!!!

    Just saying,is all!

  33. we all agree what Hanny did was unacceptable but Larato pushed him to the limit, may be becasue she knew she coming from the host country and no one could tell her anything and yes she is still in. so let it be big brother SA we have seen unfair judgment. they should both been evicted.

  34. It is ok for women to assault men if they have to. This should always be considered to be self-defence as we all know that women cannot physically fight with men. So if a woman manages to strike a blow first the men should never retaliate as that cannot really be considered to be self-defence. It is abuse –finish and klaar! How can Goliath defend himself against David? Even when a woman verbally assaults a man, belittles, embarrasses and emasculates him, he will never be forgiven if he hits her but we must forget what she says to him...what else could she really do! The poor, defenceless woman!
Recently a contestant in a reality show hit or shoved a fellow female contestant who called him @*!$#! The male contestant was kicked off the show, much to the approval of many women’s rights activists and public figures. One of those who support the decision to boot out the “abuser” is a Nigerian ex-model turned author/blogger, Linda Ikeji. She commended the producers of the show for the decision to boot out the contestant. “I’m glad he was evicted. It doesn't matter what a woman does, you never lay hands on her. This is a lesson ...you can't hit or even shove a woman and expect to remain in the show. And we are also sending a strong message that violence and abuse of women is not tolerated in Africa.”
So the lesson is simple, the message is clear – women have the social license to abuse men and for once men must feel what it is like to be submissive. What it is like to be on the receiving end! Take it like a man. Finish and Klaar!

  35. ok so the next time any of your children hit another child because they "provoked" them, congratulate them!! if a man cannot handle a silly thing as a woman provoking him, i wonder what he can handle. a man/woman must know when to walk away, know when to run and know when to fight.

  36. well hanin is 100percent right lerato deserve worst than that she is too proud and arrogant.because of her stupid behavior my man was evicted i will never forgive her for that bb pls tell that to her when u see.stupid girl
