Government Rewards Falconets With Scholarships

Nigeria's female National Team, the Falconets were runners-up at the 2010 FIFA U-20 women's World Cup championship that took place in Germany last month.

They should be rewarded for that right? Well Lagos businessman Jimoh Ibrahim gave them N20 million as appreciation for their effort. And you would think the Federal Government would top that huh?
Instead of appreciating in cash, FG awarded scholarships to the players.

Their excuse for this decision is that the players are young, amateur and should keep their focus on the future.

You all know how much the Super Eagles players got for their awful performance in SA?

Fair or not fair?

  4. money is definitely not everything...a scholarship has more value in my opinion!

i like that...and they are under 20 so it only makes sense to give them that kind of reward.

  6. Education (if done right) lasts a lifetime. Cash only goes so far. BUT, I think the government should have rewarded them with both.
