  2. Man... This is one difficult post.. I wonder where you get the vibe to post stuff dat people wud start yabbing each other about their differences. Naija is blessed wit too many talents to have a fav.. Only a stuck up somebody would. Ibiyemi is addictive for xtians, her singing's just fee good. My Dad's nuts over Lara George and man I love TY.... But wen it's serious music, it's Asa.. She's 'awa' daughter..she can really sing. I'm sure she'll metamorphosize into one legend figure like bob marley or something.

  4. If it's just about the vocals and nothing else, then without a shadow of doubt, Lara George takes the cake, closely followed by Ego and Omawunmi

  12. Asa all the way. Am sure its the under 16 shouting omawunmi, have u seen omawunmi live on stage (crap), its a shame ego is still been associated with lagbaja she hasnt made a name for herself (no albulm). Waje only heard of her in nigezie she's not all that. Ashionye with her fake accent who will buy her computerised album. Lara Geroge is ok likewise ty bello. Asa has all the packages.

  13. Waje what?

Waje is nothing compared to that girl Omawumi, not even Ego. These two sing better than Waje, though Waje dey try.

But i would choose Omawumi hands down. we are talking about vocalists here, am a huge fan of Asa but she aint no vocalist, she is a singer just like Britney Spears etall.

  21. The question says best vocalist, not artist or musician. It's like when some people say Whitney Houston is the best female vocalist, because her voice is just unique. So, I will have to go with Lara George, her song, "Ijoba Orun" just did it for me. Asa is a good songwriter, and her music is excellent. Nneka makes positive music, that makes you think. Ego is also good, but Lara's voice is just outstanding.

  22. I wonder why people just take out time to comment negatively. If you ain't got something positive to say, don't say anything at all.
@ Anonymous who seems to have nothing good to say about Omawumi,Ashionye, Ego and all,the question is 'Who is naija's best female vocalist'?
I believe all these female vocalists are doing good. With each song and possible each album they are bound to improve. All they need is encouragement.I believe there's going to be a lot of surprises from naija female singers this year.
    Kudos girls.

  23. My list in no particular order:
1.Nikki Laoye (Amazing singer.Such a big voice for such a petite woman)
2.Ashionye (Talented singer/actress.Love her in Tinsel)
3.Waje (Love her voice.Though her and Omawumi sound alike)
    4.Omawumi (Like her voice)
    5.Lami (Soulful)
    6.Ibiyemi (Strong vocalist)
    7.Nneka (Conscious singer/cute)
    8.Asa (Conscious)
    9.Yinka Davies (Powerful singer anyday)
I think they should all get together and do a song. That will be something.
