  8. C'MON NOW LINDA..WE KNOW WHERE TO FIND AMERICAN BLOGS..WE LIVE HERE..BUT YOU ARE BLOGGING FOR NIGERIANS..SO TRY AND KEEP IT ORIGINAL. NIGERIANS DONT KNOW WHAT 'HIT' MEANS. INCLUDING YOURSELF. 'HIT' AS IS USED BY BOSSIP.COM MEANS WHO WOULD 'SEX' OR 'FUCK'. BUT YOU AINT AMERICAN AND YOUR BLOG READERS AINT EITHER..SO THEY PROBABLY GONNA THINK YOU MEAN HIT AS IN PHYSICALLY PUNCHING A PERSON. I GREW UP IN AMERICA AND I TRY TO KEEP IN TOUCH WITH MY MOTHERLAND AND I DONT WANA BE READING A NIGERIAN BLOG AND IT WONT FEEL LIKE I'M READING BOSSIP. SO PLEASE KEEP IT ORIGINAL. KEEP IT NIGERIAN, KEEP IT AFRICAN.

  12. @anon 4:36 - lol at ur comment. Nigerians will think 'hit' in this context means to physically punch a person? I dont know the kind of Nigerians you know, but the ones I know arent that daft.

We all know what 'hit' means when staring at pictures of goodlooking guys... *wink*.

  13. Chei, we don suffer. Anon 4:36(I'm loving how the name has caught on)...haba we ma we sabi wetin hit be. Not that it is any thing to be proud of but give your Naija people some credit, we sabi certain slangs too. I read Linda's blog rather than the Bossips et al., and I live in Obodo Oyinbo. The others' are too celeb obsessed, Linda's has a healthy balance of celeb info and socially responsible info. O and Anon 4:36 (no hard feelings o), try hang around more Naija people abeg. Stop being so American, I mean condescending.

Anywhooo Linda, I will pass...I used to want to be Mrs Tuface but I no get energy for multiple baby mama drama yawa.

  14. Linda perhaps if you had asked 'who would you light a candle , fast, and pray for, or if all else fails, visit a herbalist in Badagry for' maybe it might have seemed more African? ;)

  15. Linda perhaps if you had asked 'Who would you light a candle, fast and pray for; or if all else fails, visit the herbalist in Badagry?', maybe it would have seemed more motherland, more Nigerian, more African ;)

  16. "Hit" and "Hit on " are 2 different things. I actually thot it was physically hit from the heading until i saw the pics and read the post. Maybe it shld have read "Who would you hit on". Anyway, no need to be rude, let's just enjoy the blog. Well done Linda, u keep me entertained.

  17. Hey guys, like Anon 4.36., the truth is, I also thought it meant sex(that's what it's generally interpreted as) then I quickly got irritated at it's hightly unsexy connection between the picture and the way Linda posed the question, then I thought of hit as click, as in choose.
Could be that depending on "where you are", it 's interpretted different.
I am just realizing that hit means starring in Nigeria,so understanding this,
@Anon 4.36 I don't think Linda was trying to be American or unAfrican/Nigerian.

    Lol @ d comments above

  24. @ anon 4:36pm, I kind of agree with you. My only thing is, I don't think Linda should use the word "hit", not because Naijas don't know what it means, but because I personally don't like the word, and let's keep it naija. I will suggest, who is sexier or who would you choose, whatever, but not hit.

You will be surprise, by how Naijas are exposed to a lot of American slangs than we think. I remember going home for the first time, last year, I just had all these assumptions in my head. Are they going to understand me? But when i got to naija, my cousins knew so many things, that I was actually just tagging along.
