Lagos Police temporarily close Ahmadu Bello road following serious flood

Read the press statement below...
The Lagos State Police Command would like to inform members of the public that the Ahmadu Bello Way in Victoria Island is temporarily closed.
Due to the heavy down pour of rain in the state, motorist plying routes like Ahmadu Bello Way in Victoria Island and other areas prone to flood which has caused traffic grid lock in the state are advised to take alternative route made available by traffic officials,
This is because the flood in the area has caused us to temporarily block the road for safety.
We would like the public to note that the relevant traffic and security agencies are on ground to flush out the drains and thus secure road users in the state. would never see water running on the roads. Everything goes underground, and from there meet at a point and exit the city. lagos is supposed to be the centre of excellence but it is turning to the centre of flood.

  6. Lagos State fucked up. No clearing of drainage etc to prepare for the rainy season. Houses etc are built on drainage channels because the big men want waterfront. Eko Atlantic city was put up by the Chagourys and the Lagos State government cohorts without thinking of the environmental impact. I know Ahmadu Bello was closed because of that video of the man in his canoe that went viral. What of Jakande/Goshen axis? You don't think that whole area should be shut down?? How many years has that area been in existence - no roads, no drainage, nothing. The whole,of Lagos is under water
