Video: Uncle of one of the rescued Chibok girls alleges FG has something to hide

Peter Joseph who is an Uncle to one of the 21 Chibok School girls released in October last year, has alleged that the Federal government has something to hide regarding the rescue/release of the 21 and 82 Chibok school girls respectfully. Speaking in a recent interview with Al Jazeerah, Peter says since his niece was released last October, his family have not been allowed to meet at length with her or speak to her on her experiences at the Boko Haram camp.
According to Peter, the Federal government has stopped the girls from speaking about their experience. He says this suggests that there is something the Federal government is hiding.  Although the Federal government had previously stated that the girls are being kept away for full de-radicalization and total re-integration, reorientation and rehabilitation.

Speaking on Al jazeerah, Joseph alleged that the girls are now in another form of prison as they cannot meet with their family members and loved ones.
"It was a great honor and privilege when we heard that our sister was released last October but we are not very much impressed with the way the government is handling the whole rehabilitation process. Since my niece's release, I have met her just once when I traveled down to Chibok last December. We are not even aware of how the rehabilitation process is going on. Nobody is allowed to see them. It is like another imprisonment.
I do talk to her on phone. She is allowed to talk for two or three minutes and then she would be cut off. There is no chance to ask her certain questions. The last time I spoke to her she said she was coming home for a break because we have an uncle in Abuja, but all of a sudden, she called to say she wasn't coming again. Communication tends to be a problem. I asked her if there is a way we her family members can come and see her and she said no they are not allowed to receive anybody. Only females members can sneak in to see them sometimes but males are not allowed in".

Peter refuted claims by the Minister of Women Affairs that the girls can leave the rehabilitation center at anytime.

“I think the Women Affairs minister is not saying the truth about this. What does she mean by the girls can leave at anytime they want when they don’t even allow family members or people that are concerned about them to come close to them? I wish she was here so that I would be able to ask her some questions personally because this thing has been bothering us the members of the family. The fact still remains that the Nigerian government needs to be open to the family members; they need to be open to everyone that is concerned. We don’t get it. I mean, are you trying to hide something? Is there something they don’t want us to hear from the girls? What are they hiding from us?”
Peter says he thinks the girls are being kept away from their family members because there is something the Federal Government doesn't want the Family members to know
“I think there is something that the Federal Government does not want us to know. The fact that the girls are popular doesn't mean that their family cannot see them. No matter how popular you are, without your family I don't think your popularity makes any sense. My heart is telling me that there is something the government doesn't want everybody to know. Even when they went to Chbok, they were not allowed to go to their houses.
They were kept in government facilities in Chibok and anyone who visited them was made to sign a register, state the village where they came from, whom they wanted to see and then a time limit was given, after which you were asked to leave and there were certain things that you were not allowed to ask the girls. You can’t ask them about their experiences in Sambisa Forest. I mean, we don’t get it. Even now that 82 girls have been rescued, what has the government done about them? Up till today, the families have not met the girls.”

  1. They need to rehabilitate the girls, debrief them and protect them. They've been brainwashed, abused and indoctrinated, apart from potentially being in danger from their former captors, they can be a danger to others or themselves.

Maybe the girls don't want to be returned, they've been through a lot, stop trying to politicise these kids.

Linda, what you're doing is very dangerous. Be careful, whatever your agenda is.

    3. 'maybe the girls don't want to be returned' listen to yourself. If she were to be your sister or daughter, will you have said something this inhumane, in this kind of u feeling manner? I doubt it. Truth must be told; people need to know the truth behind these girls. Linda what you are doing is what we need in this country :truth must be told regardless of what the axis of evil feels.

    5. Are you not ashamed of this comment? How better can you re-integrate a molested child back to the society if not within the context of family love and unity. They re just been isolated and their mind being fertile for all sorts of idle imagination. Dont home school them, get them into proper school where they will start learning proper re-integration into the society. In our blind support for APC and PDP, we ve become monsters, brainless and worst of it all inhuman in reasoning and thinking. Put ur daughters in pseudo house arrest as way of grooming them after trauma.

    7. Good that the uncle has refused sentiment to override him offcourse the got has lots of things to hid. The innocent girls were used for political reasons of which they did not even know about. The reason they are all Christians. TheI religion forbid them from using their Muslims girls . The truth they are hiding is that the girls were not in the forest but in an undisclosed hidden hideout and they dramatise all he video apearances with shukar. They return them back and threaten them and sometimes over ride the rules and sleep with some of them the reason some are with child. Interviewing the girl by their parents and journalists will expose that the innocent girls were used for political reasons.

    10. The girls need to be safe. We dont need too much information to be licked out at this time. Nigerians talk too much. What do u want to do with her experience at sabimsa forest? Do u want her to be traumatised and be crying while telling you her story? If you start asking how their experiences were, boko haram will have more information to restrategise and deal with them. They need to be safe and stop talking too much. If they go back home, boko haram might attack them again for revealing their secrets. There is no security in chibok where the girls live with their families but there is secirity where they are under the watch and care of the federal government. The uncle should receive some sense and be patient. Too much talk at this time is dangerous because boko haram is still at large and they are still holding more girls hostage. They might kill the remaining girls if their secrets are revealed. What the federal government is doing is called military intelligence. The uncle should be patient and stop being selfish & self-centred because some girls are still with boko haram

  4. I can't be deceived or misled... accepting there were missing chibok gals means you're a greater fool.. meanwhile why are we still focusing on this chibok gals news when our president is missing?!.. what a sudden distraction. If that man has passed, why can't they tell us!

    1. Your entire families are the greatest fools and stupid people. A president passed and the whole Nigeria knows not? You just comment like the foolishness you inherited in your family. Won't he be buried as a Muslim if he has passed? The same way you were all making such foolish noise until he returned back to the country. Has Calgary made you more foolish and stupid?

    1. Apparently some people are still thinking. Yes. So many others have been rescued. Why the preferential treatment for the Chibok Girls? If any body, more the youth in Nigeria, think the girls were kidnapped by Boko Haram, then, I SMH, and it shows we are not engaging in critical thinking of the whole situation. Yes, the 300 girls were arrested, yes and we should be happy some are released, but Boko Haram people were just used, the real kidnappers are politicians. If you like haul insults at me. It only shows how shallow we are in Nigeria. I do not know any PDP or APC. I only speak as a logical Nigerian youth. I am not stupid.

All what we need is patience. I know it's not easy for the family members of the returned Chibok girls but they should at least have some relief that their daughters have returned are alive and safe.

  34. I can see the comments and attacks from all those anonymous idiots paid by APC. To monitor, lie and attack anybody on the Internet. Who tries to expose and tell the truth about this APC gov.
That's what they are paid for. So never mind them. And be saying it how it happens.

  35. Thank God the truth is coming out gradually. What better ways to rehabilitate those girls than allowing their families and loved ones to see and speak with them. it will give them sense of belonging.but because APC has something they don't want the general public to know they kept them far from there families.

    ReplyDelete
  36. The percentage of foolish people in Nigeria is staggering. How long will Nigeria allow govt to be making a fool of them. The TRUTH is that there is no Rescue of any Chibok girls but girls that the government got from somewhere else. That is the reason why the government are not returning them to their bereaved families. If these girls were really those captured by boko haram, why not let let the international press have access to them? The APC govt of buhari is the BIGGEST FRAUD in recent years. Nigeria open your eyes.

    1. What is Stockholm syndrome?

    2. Was Jonathan as Commander in Chief so dumb to not be in charge of the Military, Police, SSS, NIA and so on to have allowed opposition party or Borno government manipulate situations this much.

    3. Are there no other kidnapped victims of Boko Haram whom unlike Chibok girls are Muslims and are consequently ignored by the global Christian media and pressure groups
