Nothing unpleasant has happened to the President- Garba Shehu reacts to President Buhari's death rumors

Yesterday, some Nigerians on social media were peddling rumors of President Buhari's death in the UK. Reacting to the rumors, Senior Special Assistant to President Buhari on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, in a statement released on social media, said nothing unpleasant has happened to President Buhari.

"Baseless rumors are trending again that an unpleasant thing has happened to our beloved President, Muhammadu Buhari. If you have received this information on WhatsApp or Facebook, disregard it because it is plain lies spread by vested interests to create panic. Nothing unpleasant has happened to the President. No cause for apprehension. Thanks for the many calls" he wrote on Facebook.

On May 8th, President Buhari left Nigeria for the UK  for a medical check up.

  3. What these guys don't realize is that they are fueling the rumors themselves. These rumors are a direct result of the absence of info from the appropriate quarters. Granted, they are unreasonable rumors butthis will continue until the fg communicate to its citizens appropriately

    1. What communication is required. Not even a week before the man left. Do we need a daily video coverage of him b4 the rumours stop.

  6. They should keep it up. The Bible says "He disappoints the desires of the crafty, so that their hand(hearts) can't perform it's enterprise."
