Bashir, was raped two months ago by the husband of her mother's friend
and is now responding to treatment at the Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital
(AKTH), Kano. Wives of the President/VP, Aisha Buhari and Dolapo
Osinbajo, today visited her.
The Kano State Government has finally reacted in a statement today by the state Commissioner of Information, Malam Mohammed Garba.
The Government said it was deeply saddened by the news of the rape and it would ensure that whoever is found involved in is sentenced to jail for life. Gov. Ganduje has directed the state Ministry of Justice to prosecute “whoever is involved in this sordid sexual crime.”
The statement described the act as despicable, dastardly and condemnable, “which is alien to our religious and cultural values and stressed that the action clearly portrayed the perpetrator brutal, unfeeling and the culprit deserved nothing more than the maximum penalty under the law.
The government stated that it would settle the medical bill of the victim and advised parents to monitor the movement of their wards and those they keep company with. Religious leaders have also been urged to use their places of worship to propagate the dangers of such crime and other social vices in the society.

ReplyDeleteAm sure this didn't just start today for him to be comfortable to take a 6 month old defenseless infant as sickening as it sounds,means that its been happening around him without consequences not to be tribalistic o But the most sickening cases of rape,perversion and gay rape(the guy that rape the young boy yp death,the govt official son who raped his father security 7 year old child almost to death abi to death sef i cant remember again sef the baby whose step father raped her )is from the northern part of Nigeria is it not ironic that they 're the religious fanatics around?Thank God for social media thanks bringing all these to light now if not all these would have gone unchecked
