Governor Ambode orders VIO out of Lagos roads

Lagos State Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode, has ordered the temporary suspension of the state’s Vehicle Inspection Officers, VIOs, from road operation in the state with immediate effect.

Ambode reportedly gave the order following public complaints regarding the unruly behavior of some of the VIO officers.

  21. I'm against this. All law enforcement units have played a role in maintaining the little sanity we have today on Lagos roads. If you claim they are unruly, re-orientate them.

  25. More power to your elbow our dear Governor. These guys were feeding fat on our lean pockets, we were oppressed but no one to run for help. They would obviously have stepped on the toes of some high and mighty. The government should critically look at their relevance otherwise should be scrapped. Another agency the government should watch closely is LASTMA.

  26. Praise God o. Those guys are so mean.

  31. Governor Ikpeazu should follow suit. The ones in Abia are worse.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Adieze, you must be a beneficiary of their exploits to be against this noble decision by the governor. No amount of reorientation would change them. Their main and only reason to be on the road is financial exploitation of motorists. I advocate a nation-wide suspension.

  33. Thank you my governor for always taking the lead in matters affecting the masses.

  34. Thank God and now we can drive freely around Ebute metta area. The next set of people we want out are the agberos (NURTW)... dee

  36. Go and play inside sheet Adieze O, wait till you become victim of this evil doers, maybe one stray bullet or so by untrained or drunken police man then you will feel the pain so many families has felt in there hands.. you know how many complains has gotten to the governors table before this action taken.. keep your ideas to yourself if you are not sensitive to other peoples plea then i am sorry you will not be able to lead even the smallest unit called FAMILY..(MIND UR COMMENTS ON SOCIAL PLATFORM)

  38. E remain those thieves who call themselves Customs officers. The should stop asking custom duties from private cars on the high way!something should be done, the collect bribes as high as 200k and above on the road just from 1 car, imagine their take home in one day!

    ReplyDelete
  39. God bless Ambode for this. Those ppl are lunates. Useless ppl

    ReplyDelete
  40. Any offence they catch you for is #20,000 naira in this economy.. And they can count up to four offence.. 80k... Look at road safety for example, they will address you properly and even educate you on tins you don't know abt your car and sometimes let you go with a warning, when it a very minor offence.. Not this thugs called VIO... They should reorientate them and sack the bad and worst officers.. Thank you Gov. Ambode

    ReplyDelete
  41. Gbam!!!! Bravo to Ambode. VIO has become unruly and heartless. I prefer they are scraped out forever.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Those people can disturb Ehhhhhh,
