FG confirms release of 82 Chibok girls, to be received in Abuja by President Buhari

The Federal government has released a statement confirming the release of 82 more Chibok girls from Boko Haram captivity. The girls were released yesterday May 6th after further negotiations between the Federal government and Boko Haram members. The girls who are in Borno state presently, will be received in Abuja by Presidnet Buhari later today May 7th. President Muhammadu Buhari is pleased to announce that negotiations to release more of the #ChibokGirls have yielded results.
Today, 82 more #ChibokGirls were released.
After lengthy negotiations,our security agencies have taken back these girls, in exchange for some Boko Haram suspects held by the authorities.
The released #ChibokGirls are due to arrive in Abuja tomorrow Sunday May 7, and will be received by the President.
President Muhammadu Buhari expresses his deep gratitude to all who played a part in ensuring the success of this operation, as follows: Security agencies, the military, the Government of Switzerland, the International Committee of the Red Cross, and local and international NGOs.
The President has repeatedly expressed his total commitment towards ensuring the safe return of the #ChibokGirls, and all other Boko Haram captives.
The President has received detailed briefings from the Director-General of the Department of State Services (DSS) at every stage of the negotiations/operation.

      We all can not be fool all the time, three days ago they said that Nigerian military kill top bokoharam commander and wounded shakau's hand, my question is who come free the chibok girls? Is it shakau with his wounded hand or those top bokoharam commander they bomb?

    2. So you will rather they keep 80 something girls in place of two criminals, that they will most probably bomb in a few days or weeks time. Because it doesn't affect you directly, it's a wrong decision, but if your sister, daughter(s), or niece where to be one of them, you would have been singing the praises of the govt. May you be delivered from your selfishness.

How do we applaud a failed government, to think that 82 girls were stocked somewhere in Nigeria and the government could not find them and resorted to negotiations with hoodlums, is pure madness!! Stop this deceit and face the real issue of hardship facing everyday Nigerian! Enough of this Chibok scam, Nigerians ain't buying this no more!!!!!!!!

  14. It is interesting to read the comments on this blog and the level of exposure and education of those making comments.
    It is obvious,a lot of Nigerians (youths to be precise) needs to learn and apply deductive reasoning based on logic and rationality on matters of governance and policies.
    If I am Linda, I will be concerned. I will try and balance some of the information/news presented on this platform; provide some sort of background/facts to the story. That way,commentators won't make a fool of themselves.Sad.
