The world knows that Nigerians don't joke with their Jollof Rice
and there's been a raging war of comparison between Nigerian and
Ghanaian Jollof for a whie but now there's a new twist.
CNN's
Richard Quest recently asked Nigeria's information minister, Lai
Mohammed, a simple question, 'Which country makes the best Jollof Rice'
and Lai responded saying, 'I'll probably say Senegal'.Nigerians are not fining this funny at all. See their tweets after the cut...

ReplyDeleteI've visited Senegal and I will say their Jollof is a nice feel of taste but the Nigerian Jollof is enticing and delicious cos of the creative ingredients used in preparing it
ReplyDeleteLai doing what he knows how to do best...Lying! He never disappoints!
ReplyDeleteLol.....so crazy but Oga Lia why???? That's much of a big betrayal. Niger no dey joke with them jollof rice.

ReplyDeleteDon't blame Lai Mohammed. Blame his wife and the family that he came from, for not knowing how to cook Jollof Rice. Probably if he had eaten well cooked jollof rice-he won't have uttered such nonsense. Oh god of Jollof rice; accept our burnt offering of Lai Mohammed
ReplyDeleteThe same way Senegal President is better dan Buhari, huh? Old men dat eat thru their anus!
ReplyDeleteNigerians hate truth! Jollof rice originated from Senegal. Can any African country have the best amala & gbegiri?
ReplyDeleteAre you Ghanaian? Cos all you do is defend them even on unrelated posts. This is a joke. Don't spoil the fun or get lost abeg. Confused boy.
DeleteFootball originated from England but they are not the best today. Jollof originated from Senegal but Nigeria has the crown. Lia has shown he does not understand his job description. He is met to defend our reputation thereby promoting what he cherries most. Lia has failed woefully.
ReplyDeleteDistraction for the week;if he had said Nigerian jollof rice, the matter for end there. However, since he mentioned Senegalese jollif rice,it will trend the whole week as a distraction from the failings of Buhari.
ReplyDeleteThey Af Finished uncle Lie Mohammed..
ReplyDeleteCan U imagine.
See as he opened our yansh to the World just like dat..
Lie can't be trusted.
Oya uncle Bubu pls Lie should park & Move 2 Senegal abeg.

ReplyDeleteThe gods are watching
Lols.
Delete.a very ugly man with an ugly motive.the question was not where did jollof rice originate from but who makes the best jollof rice? D man is just a big fool.minister of culture and information indeed!
I think he probably said that because the actual origin of jollof rice is from Senegal, not Nigeria or Ghana. Nig and Ghana have just been fighting over supremacy of jollof rice but in truth, it originated from Senegal. Research on that would tell you it's from the word WOLLOF, jollof was coined.
ReplyDeleteWe ate not talking of origination but of taste? D old man simply disappointed this country.he should resign abeg.
DeleteWolof is the tribe. Jollof isctge region they originated from.... I have had a taste of both and I can confidently tell Nigerians that Senegalese chieb (that's their name for what we call jollof rice) is far far better. But then, its all a matter of taste, right?
Deletesay what!!!only firewood party naija jollof rice, can literarily wake up d dead.....d odour and hunger
ReplyDeletepangs from smelling such esp as u approach saturday weddings, namings etc is indescribable.
senegal koo!!####
This is why bloggers and people on the internet get others to dislike them..Does it mean nobody watched the interview? Where it was explained almost immediately after that the old man thought the question was about where jollof rice originated?...sign out..
ReplyDeleteI don't kno y Nigerians think they can cook, there jollof rice is the most nasty rice have ever tasted, wen it comes to good food try country like Senegal, and Sierra Leone, and as for Ghana dey should banned dem from cooking period!!
ReplyDeleteI believe this is a good business opportunity for smart entrepreneurs to start importing jollof rice from Senegal. After all no less a person than our highly esteemed minister of culture has informed us that Senegal has the best jollof rice and Nigerians deserve the best.
ReplyDeleteAnd a bad business opportunity for us to maybe export to the USA.shame
DeleteThat old man is always disgracing Nigeria
ReplyDeleteLie... You no know say nah only jollof rice dey make us happy for this 9ja una don dabaru? Now, how you want make we survive? Lol
ReplyDeleteHmmmmnn round peg in a square hole? Total misfit! Where are d I/R genius? English dozen? Even at dat? Our culture Minister cannot sell our culture Every week their people do one osamor or the other and would always serve correct JOLLOF RICE ! Mtcheeeeeww

ReplyDeleteThis is not a joking matter
ReplyDeleteEveryone knows Nigerian jollof rice is the best.
Lai must repent
ReplyDeleteLai Mohammed did not understand the question asked in English. He is just a complete native man
ReplyDeleteLol, OMG lia mohammad you fall hand , how dear you, pinkin Wen non fine but e mama like ham, must you say it Another country, you be old school sef so maybe Na thier local jolliof rice you like, but not to worry once bubu is back to sit he will send you to indefinite exile to Senegal so you Can Eat all the jolliof rice you want
ReplyDeleteGet your facts straight before you castigate the man. Most of you fight over nothing. I am a Nigerian that has been to Senegal n U can attest to the fact that they make the best bill of rice. They actually call it chieb. Most of you claim bill of rice as your own, but have you stopped for a minute to ask about the meaning of jollof? For the information of most ignorant cows here, jollof is a region in Senegambia and it is also the name of the tribe that reside in that region. Can any other country claim they make the best gbegeri and Amala? It beats me as to why most Nigerians are soooooo ignorant and petty.
ReplyDeleteU rest my case shaaaaaa
Why the hullabaloo, Liar Mohammed was simply doing what he knows best: Telling lies. Nigerians should understand that the man was telling lies as usual.
