It will be recalled that Jidenna, recently released his debut album titled ``The Chief” which he explained was named after his late father’s title status which he intends to attain through his music. Jidenna revealed that he spent thirty days alone without seeing anyone to write the album. He advised artists to see themselves as a small business and the earlier they realize that, the higher their chance of survival in the industry but if not, they could go into oblivion.
Jidenna said that one way he will push his songs in Nigeria is to do collaborations with Nigerian artists from different genres of music because he is versatile.
``I can decide to do a record with BurnaBoy, Wizkid or Davido,” he said.Omalicha,a broadcaster and panelist at the forum, commended Jidenna for his album and how he was able to blend different sounds to make it cut across to both his fans in Nigeria and America. This is the guy that said he had to import AK 47 into Nigeria and come in with a small arm to protect him because the light-skinned people in Nigeria are hot cakes so they are more valuable than the blacks? lol... penis exercises works
ReplyDeleteok
ReplyDelete-D great anonymous now as Vivian Reginalds
I love this man and can't wait for his Collabos. For those still throwing rocks at him about that unfortunate interview, I would have you know that the boy was merely confused and did not really want to answer the question. i.e. My children face the same issues almost everyday of their lives when people upon hearing their accents say " Oh you are African American!" My kids politely correct them by explaining that they are just black American because African Americans are the black people who do not know what part of Africa they come from. Jide, could not of course have answered that honestly for fear of offending his loyal American fans.
ReplyDeleteAs for the light-skin comment, I think we all know that he actually meant mulatto or bi-racial but once again did not use that word as the fucked up Americans with their slavery mentality actually believe that mulatto is a derogatory word??? Okay o o. I always explain to them that Mulattoes in Nigeria are considered elite as they are usually children of Nigerian professionals and their European wives. Until recent years all mulattoes I knew had parents who were physicians, professors, Dentists etc. They are definitely NOT products of rape as the slavery mentality of Americans have ingrained in them to the extent that one is supposed to be ashamed of his bi-racial ethnicity. I am very proud to be mulatto and always correct people who call me half caste, which means Half Indian (the Hindus have a caste system).
You cannot imagine how hard it is for a first generation American to fit into that AFrican American psyche but Jide has actually managed to do so quite well and still remain loyally Nigerian. I love him; he is a good kid.
