Ali Ndume's supension: Borno state gov, Kashim Shettima leads monarchs, politicians to Bukola Saraki to beg for forgiveness (Photos)

Borno state governor, Kashim Shettima, led some monarchs and top politicians in the state to the residence of Senate President, Bukola Saraki, last night to beg for the senate to lift the six months suspension placed on Seantor Ali Ndume this week.

The senate during its plenary on Wednesday, suspended Ali Ndume for calling for an investigation in an allegation made by Sahara Reporters against senate President Bukola Saraki and Senator Dino Melaye. Sahara Reporters had accused Saraki of importing  a Range Rover SUV into the country without paying the necessary customs duty while Dino was accused of forging his First degree certificate.

The senate's committee on Ethics and Priviledges was mandated to carry out a public hearing. The investigation by the committee showed the claims against Saraki and Dino were false. The senate afterwards suspended Ndume for moving a motion against two of his colleagues without carrying out proper investigation.

At the meeting with Saraki held in his Maitama, Abuja home yesterday night, Shettima appealled that the senate recalls Ndume and cancels the suspension. In his response, Saraki promised that he would look into the matter and come up with what would be favourable to them.

  10. "Beg for forgiveness!" Ndume, please stand tall in your supposed punishment with PRIDE. You were punished for having independent thought and opinion, for objectivity, and for an inquisitive manner. These are the attitudes and mannerisms that bring development and growth. Any system that does not embrace these virtues is one that is fueled by suppression and oppression. The Allah that you serve is not one that oppresses nor suppresses. Stay true to what motivated you to act well in the first place. Stop sending people older than Saraki's father to go and kowtow to him because of salary and benefits that can grow wings and fly at any time.

  21. Why are they begging... first of all the suspension is illegal and should have not happened in the first place. He did not create the allegations it was sahara reporters who did, he just brought the allegations to the senate hearing. want to increase your penis size?

  26. Linda, sometimes you make the most frivolous allegations. Borno State Governor and entourage went to Saraki to register their displeasure for the suspension of their Senator, elected duly by the people of Borno South... Also understand that the Senate CANNOT legally suspend anyone beyond a few days and within the realm of resonability.
Kindly crosscheck your stories. Thank you
